What exactly do you think you're getting for Eichel? You have talented young (controllable) players, the best prospect in the system and a ton of futures. You may get a slightly different mixture of them but yo aren't getting more value than this.

Value in summation might be fine (only have limited knowledge on some of them). Issue is that it’s 7 assets. IF Eichel asks for a trade, Buf would want better assets in a smaller quality. Basically if you get above 4 assets, prolly not worth it from Buf. Is this enough info. Basically gonna have to be quality, not quantity. Also, even if he requests, they have him under contract for 6 years. They can just say no, we’ll trade you for a package we are satisfied with if at all

Eichel is a top 15 player in the league!! That package doesn't get you Eichel imo. Poulin isn't a top tier prospect, the 3 roster players don't make up for the MASSIVE loss the team would have if Eichel was gone and the picks could end up being mid-low draft picks

Poulin isn't considered quality? 2 1st round picks? Kapanen seems to be very highly valued around the league and Pettersson isn't a bum.
Like I will fully concede that they could get an ever higher tier prospect than Poulin but they do get both quantity and quality in this package.

Like I said, don’t know much about all the guys poulin bring one. But the fact that you put 7 assets in there made think that a combo of those 5/6 wasn’t gonna do it. 7 vs 1 trades just don’t happen

I've heard differently on Poulin (but as a Leafs fan I don't have a huge amount of knowledge on it) but I struggle to see a package that returns more total value for Eichel. Buffalo is going to lose the trade. That isn't in question, the question is where they put the value. PGH could give them a mediocre now and a good future if they draft properly.
But once again who is giving up more value?

Not really, and those teams get bad reps from players. Look at the PLD and Laine situation. They're getting traded. It does take time but they are getting moved. When a star wants to go stars get moved.

I was asking what team was going to give more total value in an offer than this presented here. I can absolutely see a different configuration of the pieces that BUF may prefer, but overall I can't see more value going back.

Matthews is close, not gonna argue who’s better or not. Both are very good and comparable. I was asking about the value in what you proposed. Answer is probably no. Also, flaw in your argument, Eichel hasn’t asked out, regardless how many times you say it. Third, if I proved your point on the star gets what he wants argument, you proved mine bringing up ROR trade where there only 3 real assets and two to balance out cap

A lot of credible sources say that this is the final year. Make the playoffs or he is done. In your division I don't see you making it. He will ask out.
Also in the ror trade the 2 cap dumps were seen as assets to some degree, and the trade was forced before a bonus was paid making it harder.

They were pure dumps, one made it 20 games into the season in Berglund. Don’t try to tel me how the assets were viewed. And who are these “sources”. People with no names. This trade doesn’t get it done period. Quality over quantity or Eichel is told to play in Buf period
