I don’t really see sharks doing that trade they don’t really need the cap and they are gonna suck so they won’t trade their 1st

Based on the last two years plus the time still
On his contract I would do this trade, that being said word out of camp is he came in shape and had extensive work on refining his game to recapture the player he was 3/4 years ago. So we will see.

No reason for the sharks to do this. It’s not unreasonable value, but we’d rather just hang onto Jones at this rate.

Sharks cant afford to do this. We have no starter options other than Jones which would be fine for a tank but you cant tank without a first round pick

Oh I don’t think he will rebound I’m just spewing the bull we are being given, my real hope one or both goalies go down Melnichuyk comes up and we have a legit goalie.

A 22 year old with 32 professional games on international ice seems like a terrifying thought as an NHL starter. Give him some time to develop. I'd say there's no rush, but clearly there is given the teams lack of prospect depth, and all of the old guys with anchor contracts.

Lol I do very agree with you! That’s why I’m happy they aren’t rushing Merkley up. The difference is Melnichuyk actually played and played well in the 2nd most talented pro league in the world which makes me more comfortable with him, however I really would like him to get a year with the AHL and backup next year. I was hoping we were picking up a better backup then Dubnyk.
