Important Info on Yandle

Created by: Silkysmooth42
Team: 2020-21 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 13, 2021
Published: Jan. 13, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Just to start, this is a trade that could bring Yandle to the Bruins. However, as Marcsnack covered very well in his own post (and I just want to make it Abundantly Clear) these are the issues:

1. Bruins just moved on from Chara and Krug to give their Young LHD a shot at playing (Zboril who is looking solid at training camp. Urho who could play well. Lauzon who is playing really well on the top pair with McAvoy apparently)... So they might not even WANT to bring in the older man to mess with what they have going on

2. His Cap/Age... Any trade that involves the bruins would require some retention obviously. However, even with retention it might not make sense for the bruins to use cap space on him especially if he is to decline over the next 2 years. Might as well develop the young guys and use that space to resign young guys / sign UFA.

3. The Expansion draft! This is the big one! With the expanion draft allowing 3 protected dman (unless you wanna leave more forwards unprotected), they will be protecting McAvoy, Carlo, and likely Griz. However, with Yandle NTC, he will have to take that 3rd spot meaning that Griz (or Lauzon? idk if hes availible) will be unprotected. Not worth it!

In conclusion: The bruins are the only team that is likely going to reject a Bruins-Panthers Yandle trade as they are the team that stands to lose the most. So here it is, but just note it is most likely NOT going to happen!
Trades
BOS
  1. Yandle, Keith ($2,350,000 retained)
FLA
  1. Moore, John
  2. Senyshyn, Zach
  3. 2021 5th round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
I already know there is gonna be one moron here telling me Senyshyn has no value blah blah blah
So I am gonna Overpay by a 5th rounder to make sure none of you Bruins-haters bother me lmaooooo
Senyshyn is still 23 and looked solid in his few NHL games last year. He isnt worth much, but he certainly is still a prospect with value.

So I cant see Florida doing this deal unless they are completely desperate to get him off the roster. With the retention and moores contract they don't really save much money and senyshens value isnt exactly real high. He did pass through waivers just like 2 days ago.

They’d prob take Moore straight up. But they are not taking him and retaining.

Unless Yandle waives his NMC Boston is not likely touching him. Although they will likely have to make a trade with Seattle anyway to keep from losing Lauzon/Zboril if one or both play well. That being the case they may figure they just make a deal with Seattle to protect all their d men and go for it. It backfires if Seattle is not willing to work with them and takes Grizz. In essence then you traded Grizz + whatever for Yandle. Ugh. It’s a big risk. One i seriously doubt they take without that waiver.

Exactly. Remove the retention and it’s fair, as long as Yandle is willing to waive his NMC for the expansion draft

This is well put together! Long story short, Yandle is a great one dimensional offensive dman. It's worth nothing that his defensive disasters is a huge reason he is at risk of being scratched for Florida. If you ask me, I want nothing of Yandle's defensive game here in Boston.

His defensive play

Age, cap hit, term

DISASTER!

We'll get our next LHD. We will find out how Lauzon, Zboril, Vaak do. If Bruins feel they're not good enough, next offseason we will get our LHD! But Yandle isn't it, that's for sure.

Great post
