Description

As a Connecticut native, my feeling is Shattenkirk's first choice would be the Rangers. He'll command big dollars on the open market and I think he will get. Maybe he takes less to play for certain teams but I think he could get $7m+. The Rangers are tight against the cap, but Nash's money comes off the books after the season which will free up nearly $8m to pay Vesey, Hayes, Mller. Trading Marc Staal to Minnesota reunites him with brother Eric and brings the Rangers a younger, cheaper RHD who could play in the top 4 and in case Holden's season is a one hit wonder the team can decide which of the 2 defencemen they'd prefer to keep or buyout remainder of Girardi's contract and pay both Dumba & Holden.

Minnesota wants a Center, and Marc Staal + 3rd wont cut it for the massive contract theyre taking on. Especially for someone like Dumba.

2017-18 rosters are kinda mute anyway, considering there should be changes this season. Either way, 1m too much for Shat and 500k for Zib. Clendening and Lindberg won't be here. Nieves should be here, hopefully Gilmour and/or Graves also. Going to have to take a bad contract back for Cyclop.

Would have to think long term... the Rangers need to shift the cap from Defensively heavy to offensively heavy. Kind of think DG would get bought out if Shat makes anything over 6. I would never give Fast 1.5m, the way this team is I'm honestly surprised he even plays but AV loves him. Gilmour or Graves should make the team next season possibly both.
