VESA made the roster??? Holy ****, I hope we actually see him take a step. Also it would be nice to see samberg get a few games. Will be fun to watch Heinola and perfetti on the moose. I hope the OHL stays shut down, perfetti would be better off in the AHL.

Great forwards (if stasney bounces back as a solid 2C)

But the D still sucks

I don't understand putting your two best goal scorers and two of your worst forwards defensively on the same line together -- Connor + Laine.

Scheifele and Wheeler just can't be split up.

I don't know if he did, Little won't officially be put on LTIR until tomorrow, after that there'll be some more movement plus Lewis is likely going to be signed, Vesalainen might stay on the taxi squad but probably goes to the Moose unless there's an injury and they keep him but even then I doubt it, think he's AHL bound eventually, agree though hopefully he takes a step this season.

Haven’t watched Laine last year I see, he was one of the better ones at the defensive side we had

Edit: the reason they put Conner on the 2nd line and not
The first cause they want him a learn the defensive side from Statsny and Laine’s perma 2nd line :/

Imo surprised heinola didn’t even get a single practice. Makes me sad but oh well.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see him called up a few weeks into the season, the quarantine will hurt his conditioning a bit. I don’t blame them for sending perfetti and Heinola down to get into game shape.

Honestly I’d love to watch perfetti and vesalainen play together on the moose. I hope the OHL stays shut down, the AHL is where perfetti needs to be.

Laine may have made improvements, but I wouldn't say he's a good defensive forward. He still doesn't have great possession numbers, gets favorable zone starts (as expected with that shot), his xGA got worse -- I mean, he improved a bit in some stats, but he is by no means a good defensive forward.

When we’re talking about the Jets top 6, he is one of the better defensive guys haha. It’s better for Connor to play with laine and stastny to learn the d zone, than to play with scheifele and wheeler.

He’s decent, can hold his own there, no longer a liability

All the Jets numbers took a hit with all the def we lost last off-season

The deal is that wingers job is to put the puck in the other teams net, keeping the puck out is for the defensemen, goalie and even the center

If they can play defensive decently then nice but their primary role is to provide offence

I mean, depends on your role -- but yeah, for Laine, he should definitely be getting every offensive opportunity he can get.

Depends when they started quarantine, would love to see them both play a few games

Perfetti isn’t ready, give him a few games and send him down to the AHL hopefully

Heinola is a bit trickier, give him a few games as well and see where he’s at.. if he’s ready awesome otherwise AHL and not burn his ELC. Those r pretty valuable rn

win-win
