Sanderson easy.

Guhle isn't as good IQ wise or defense wise as you would think. His physicality earns him bonus points, just like Kleven.

Sanderson’s skating and defensive positioning is elite. He rarely gets beat 1 on 1

yeah this do be sanderson pretty easily at this point, tough to go guhle when their only play time since sanderson was ranked higher by everyone and taken earlier in the draft is at the wjc, where guhle was alright but sanderson dominated

He also basically singlehandedly won the gold medal game, I do love players that step up in the big moments

We’re only 3 months removed from the draft. I like the Guhle pick, but it’s Sanderson no question.

How is Guhle high-risk? He’s one of the safest picks we could’ve made. He’s not flashy but he has a lot of attributes that will translate to the NHL. IDK about his ceiling, but he’s definitely an NHLer.

Doesn’t have a high ceiling, as you’ve said, so there’s reason to believe he very well could flop.

He has just as little chance of flopping as anyone else in his range. People like Jacob Perreault are what you would call high risk, high reward picks, because he has a chance that he never gets close to the NHL because of his work effort/defensive game, but he could also end up as a consistent 40 goal scorer. Guhle is the kind of guy that could be a depth NHL defenseman, or he could be a really good 2nd pairing D. That doesn’t strike me as “high risk, high reward”.
