He has just as little chance of flopping as anyone else in his range. People like Jacob Perreault are what you would call high risk, high reward picks, because he has a chance that he never gets close to the NHL because of his work effort/defensive game, but he could also end up as a consistent 40 goal scorer. Guhle is the kind of guy that could be a depth NHL defenseman, or he could be a really good 2nd pairing D. That doesn’t strike me as “high risk, high reward”.

After the top 10, anyone that’s guaranteed to make the NHL is a “safe” pick. High risk, high reward means they have a good chance of not being an NHLer, which just isn’t the case with Guhle. If you’re saying he’s high risk, so is every single player that gets drafted beyond 10th.
