That move is arguably the worst thing I've seen on here for the blues. It's worst than the Parayko to Toronto trades. You want to give up all of that scoring to add another D that we can't protect and force Faulk back to the left?

You say that, but actually Panthers say no first

Your bias is showing. Bortuzzo isn't worth much, Schwartz is a free agent in a few months. This trade is essentially Thomas and a 3rd for Ekblad, at least in Florida's eyes. They say no.

One Schwartz is one of the best advanced statistics players out there. Bortuzzo is about a fourth round pick, Thomas is a future star, and what has Ekblad done?

Like I said, Schwartz is a free agent to be. He would not be re-signing with Florida. Sure, they could flip him for a 1st at the deadline, but he wouldn't be included in the deal in the first place unless there was an extension in place. Yes, we are very high on Thomas, but he hasn't broken out yet. He means more to us now than he does in a trade to someone else today.

Ekblad is their franchise defenseman.

Doesn't seem like you're trying to read this trade from Florida's perspective at all.

Hard to believe Ekblad is a franchise defenseman. Which again makes you look a bit off. He's awful on defense, one of the worst, and he can't play Penalty kill whatsoever. I'll give you the fact that he can play Offense, but when Faulk has better offense and defense on advanced stats for even strength and PP and PK. The only reason he's a "franchise defenseman" is because of the players he plays with. Aaron Ekblad is not a franchise Defenseman. I'm sorry that's funny.

Did you pull up a graph to make that analysis?
