since it is a regular season award i dont know how he got nominated but he did build a final four team. But there are definitely other gms that could have been nominated instead of him

It's voted on after the 2nd round so it makes sense

GOAT GM WHO I WANTED TO BE FIRED 2 WEEKS AGO WOOO

No idea how, other GM's deserve to be there over Bergy/Lou

Bergevin was the busiest GM in the league in the offseason in terms of adding players, and every move has worked out, and they’re in the final 4. I’d be surprised if he didn’t win the award.

He was one of the most active GMs during the offseason and Toffoli/Perry/Edmundson/Allen are huge reasons behind our success

So Vegas is trying Alex Tuch at centre between Pacioretty and Stone. This is dangerous, because they’re 3 of Vegas’s best forwards, but Montréal has last change, and Tuch has a career faceoff percentage of 39.5%, compared to Danault’s 53.1%. With the last change, this is probably as good of a matchup situation as the habs could hope for.

Best news possible. This just makes Vegas top heavy like Toronto was. This works in our favour.

Am I the only one tired of everyone discrediting our team of their good performances? Like they're good and get over it. This guy cherrypicked his argument and forgot about Auston Matthews. Same goes for people saying "They lost to Price, not to the Habs". Hockey Twitter is something

Dominique Ducharme is in isolation at home due to "irregularities in the covid testing". There will be further testing today.

Is Ducharme gonna be behind the bench tonight?

If it’s 10 days he’s out for the rest of the series.

Well this is terrible. Montréal is now down to 2 fewer coaches than they started the year with (and 3 fewer coaches if you don’t include Burke). This would be great, but probably not feasible:

Richardson is the only one on the staff with professional head coaching experience (4 years in the AHL). And fortunately he probably knows how to deal with the complicated situation we have on D right now. I wonder what the protocol would be for getting Joël Bouchard? I’m not sure if he’s technically part of the organization, or how long he would need to quarantine for.

Before the curse was broken: 0-8 in OT
After the curse was broken: 8-2 in OT/SO

Montréal improves to 9-1 in the playoffs with Erik Gustafsson in the lineup.

Also other than Tatar, Evans, and Lehkonen swapping out because of injuries, Montréal’s forward lines have been the same since Game 3 against Toronto.

Go habs.

Not permanently lol but for this playoffs, I hope the habs win. Canada's cup drought is too long.

Really though, I should have been a habs fans. They're a good team.

https://www.tsn.ca/montreal-canadiens-corey-perry-waivers-1.1658487?tsn-amp

So Corey Perry’s agent called 3 teams (2 of which would’ve put a claim on him) to ask to not claim Perry off waivers in January. This makes so much sense, because we were all surprised that no one would take Corey Perry for free at the start of the year.

Well ****. He’s been a godsend for Laval over the last 3 years. The habs will be in tough to replace him with someone as good. He’s probably been offered a high-paying job in the KHL or something like that that the habs couldn’t match.

And just like that, Montréal/Laval have lost 4 of their 9 coaches to start the year.

The start of the year:
MTL
Head Coach: Claude Julien
Associate Coach: Kirk Muller
Assistant Coach: Dominique Ducharme
Assistant Coach: Luke Richardson
Goalie Coach: Stephane Waite
LAV
Head Coach: Joël Bouchard
Assistant Coach: Alex Burrows
Assistant Coach: Daniel Jacob
Goalie/Video Coach: Marco Marciano

Now:
MTL
Head Coach: Dominique Ducharme
Assistant Coach: Luke Richardson
Assistant Coach: Alex Burrows
Director of Goaltending*: Sean Burke
LAV
Assistant Coach: Daniel Jacob
Goalie/Video Coach: Marco Marciano

So now the habs need an AHL Head Coach, an AHL assistant, and probably another NHL assistant for next year. Plus with how well he’s done, there’s the possibility that Richardson gets poached by another team as well.

I wish Bouchard the best of luck in whatever comes next, and it won’t be long before he’s in the NHL, because he’s one hell of a coach.

And Veilleux won’t be back. Can’t say I’m surprised, because he can/is getting a lot more money in Europe, since he was a great goal scorer in the AHL the past 2 years. Wish him the best of luck too. It’s unfortunate, but he can be replaced in free agency.

I'd guess Bouchard is going to get an NHL job this season. Could definitely see him being a favorite for Detroit's head coach
