So now that the moves are over for the habs, I’m going to guess the numbers of the new additions:

#13 - Cole Caufield
#22 - Jon Merrill
#56 - Erik Gustafsson

Caufield wore #13 at the world juniors, Gustafsson has worn #56 his entire career, and every number Merrill has ever worn is taken in Montréal, so I’m just guessing he’ll be given the lowest available number.

Can we say the Habs Lowkey had an elite TD?

Staal (3rd liner) for 3th + 5th
Merrill (#5 defender) for 5th
Gustafsson (#6/7 defender) for 7th

Those are some great pick ups. While it might not help us, we got those players for super good value.

Staal was a 3rd and a 5th, but yeah the habs had a great trade deadline.

Merrill is wearing #28, and Gustafsson is wearing #32. It appears that Bergevin’s love for small numbers strikes again.

In Dan Robertson voice:
“KULAK!”

Brett Kulak scores his first goal in over 2 years, and it’s against his former team.

Just as I expected. Because of the postponements for the Rocket, over the next 2 weeks Montréal plays 8 games while Laval only plays 1. Even if he doesn’t get into the lineup at all, it would benefit Cole more to practice with the big club than just sit around waiting for Laval’s games.

And on the negative side of this tweet, it looks like Carey is still out for the time being.

Interesting thing that I forgot about until now. This shouldn’t be a problem, since the only non-emergency call-ups should be Caufield. And at our full roster + Caufield the habs are still under the ACSL. And it’s unlikely Ouellet gets called up once he’s sent down, since we have 8D ahead of him, and Primeau and Evans can both be called up as emergency exceptions if need be. (Or if we go over the ACSL for one day it isn’t the end of the world)

Not 13. I’m surprised. I’m going to have to get used to this.

Chiarot’s back and playing with Weber. Kulak is playing with Romanov, and Ouellet is out. Everything else is the same as Wednesday.

Price is back! This also means that Caufield can play at any point without the team going over the cap.

Well that was a very unfortunate bounce.

Also, the white on Price’s mask keeps making me think he’s Primeau when seeing him from a distance.

I'm going to start rooting against this team. Losing is best for the fans and the overall success of the team. It's clear this team isn't anywhere near being a contender.

New Coach, New GM, hell, even a new owner would be best.

Ducharme is okay but Bergy has been here for about 10 years and done nothing significant

Actually I think Bergevin has done very well with what he's allowed to do. I'm sure he knows that a proper rebuild lasts longer than 1 year. I blame the Molsons and their "win now at all cost and lose in the 1st round" mentality.

As much as I'd love Bergevin to stay as GM during a rebuild, there's no way in hell Geoff would allow it

The team is only allowed 4 regular recalls post trade deadline OR 3 regular recalls during the regular season, and an unlimited amount in the playoffs. Because the habs used 3 of their recalls in cap manoeuvring moves on deadline day, calling up Caufield without an injury would mean that Evans can’t be called up unless there are less than 12 healthy forwards on the team. (Including in the playoffs)

so if berg were to call up either caufield or evans, one of them would be stuck on the taxi squad for the rest of the year?

Yes, unless there are injuries. And by not using up a call up on either of them it gives the team maximum flexibility in the playoffs, when the games mean the most.
