So as far as I understand, the Caufield recall situation could’ve been avoided if the habs waited 2 hours and 45 minutes until Mete got claimed, then they’d be able to call up Xavier Ouellet on an emergency basis rather than using one of their 4 call ups.

But let me add one thing. After the TD clubs are only allowed 4 regular recalls until the end of the season. Habs have already used 3. So they’d need to use an Emergency recall to make additional moves, which would require an injury. Which is what I believe the coach means.

Max seems to be having a lot of anger and discipline issues this year.

So Merrill & Gustafsson should be good to go tomorrow (or at the very latest Friday). We all know Chiarot’s not coming out of the lineup unfortunately, so I’m guessing they switch out Kulak with Merrill or the pairs stay the same.

We’ll see how the “4th” line is deployed tomorrow. Merrill is playing on the right side of Romanov as expected. Gustafsson I think gets out of quarantine tomorrow, although I doubt he plays, due to the fact that it’ll be his first day skating in a week, and his position on the depth chart.

Also Price is out at least a week in concussion protocol. And because of the Price injury, even if the habs had an injury at forward, Caufield wouldn’t be able to enter the lineup and they’d have to go with 7 D.
