It's still unclear if Shea Weber's injury has been a thing for a long time or no. Since we are winning, may he take the time he needs to fully recover.

Maybe that’s a factor, yeah. He shouldn’t be back on the PP no matter what, though.

What a ride that was! Cole Caufield, first NHL goal, and the OT winner!

The called back goal was stupid, but sometimes bad moments like those can be evened out by great moments like Caufield’s game-winner.

Nick Suzuki has been phenomenal as of late. Jeff Petry is back to his start of the season self. Toffoli continues to score. Primeau was good.

Chiarot definitely looks way more comfortable tonight. And now, the question should be raised, is Ben Chiarot better than Weber? Also, is Weber even a top 6 D on the team? The powerplay has certainly benefited from his absence, and the 5-on-5 mobility and puck moving has improved as well.

Yeah, that Perry goal was absolutely good but in the end we still won. Also, Weber definitely shouldn’t be on the PP, and when he comes back I feel like he should be on the 3rd pair but knowing Ducharme he’ll be higher

The thing about Weber is, is he better than any of the 6 D? Everyone on the blueline is more mobile than him, and everyone, except maybe Merrill, is a better puck mover than him, but Merrill makes up for it by being great defensively. Weber’s slap shot is hard, but it isn’t dangerous, and doesn’t really create chances at all. And his wrist shot is terrible. So he’s not good at creating scoring chances, he’s not good at moving the puck, and he isn’t that good defensively either.

But yeah, unfortunately Ducharme’s probably going to play him top pairing minutes when he gets back. I really wish we could hire a coach who plays players where they deserve to play, but unfortunately any coach who wants to scratch Weber likely won’t get hired by Bergevin.

So we’re now tied with Winnipeg with the same amount of points in the same amount of games. They have the edge in the tiebreakers and the easier schedule for the rest of the year, but they’ve also lost 7 in a row, so we’ll see how it goes.

I have yet to find the correlation, but since Weber's injury :
-Nick Suzuki is playing a like fk'n 1C
-Jeff Petry is back to his play of the beginning of the season
-Ben Chiarot is actually playing decent hockey.

He looks so skinny, even though he’s the 5th heaviest player on the team.

We’re so used to seeing him in equipment that when he isn’t it’s almost like we don’t know him

I’m getting sick of the Leafs. And we still have another game against them on Saturday, and in all likelihood an entire playoff series against them.

I know they are good, but for some reason every time we play them, we forget how to skate or pass.

I mean, without the horrific event that was the first period, it was a 2-1 game.

So the habs put out medical updates on all the players. Basically just everything that we already know, in addition to the information that Phil is out for Saturday and maybe longer (pending evaluation) with an upper body injury. Sound like Byron is the closest to returning.

Real rough that Phil is out, and obviously we all hope that Carey is good to go soon.

And if Danault misses more than a week or a bit, Montréal’s season is as good as done.

As long as he's back for the 1st round, it doesn't matter. Now's the time to nurse the injuries we have.

That’s what I mean. The first round likely starts a week from Sunday for the habs. If he or Price miss part of the series, we are massively screwed.

Well I’m confident that Allen can do good in the playoffs but we’d definitely miss Danault

We can’t win a series without Price. Allen is good enough for a backup, but he can’t win a playoff series unless his team is much better than the other team, which certainly isn’t the case for the habs against Toronto.

Following Danault's injury, Saturday will be the first time in the Canadiens' history that they won't have a Quebec-born player for a game.

I wonder what Danault's injury means for Kotkaniemi. I really hope he takes the top 6 spot, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Eric Staal take it
