Maybe, but it could be just to try something new. Both he an Frolík have shown that they’re just “guys” at the NHL level, so there’s no risk of going with one over the other. Plus there was no way that Belzile could’ve played before Tatar got back, since they weren’t allowed to send down Frolík.

I’ve seen this and thought I’d bring it up. The Sens are 8-2-1 since claiming Mete, we are 7-8-0

The Sens also played Vancouver 4 times and Edmonton/Toronto 0 times over that span, and added Shane Pinto, while the habs got more injuries and had a more condensed schedule. Sure the Sens have been good of late, but a 3rd pairing defenseman isn’t the reason for that.

Just remembered that this will be Alex Belzile’s regular season NHL debut.

That Petry penalty was a garbage call. And does anyone have any idea as to what the first whistle after the penalty? It looked like it was an icing, which should not have been the case.

I also posted this in the NHL season discussion thread, but it looks like Paul Byron will return today for the habs, which means for the first time in their 111 year history, including 6,785 NHL games, the habs will be playing without a Québec born player in their lineup.

Talk about deflating. The Byron - Evans - Lehkonen line has had a phenomenal night, it’s too bad they won’t be able to play game 1 of the playoffs together.

Well that’s the happiest I’ve ever been about a habs loss. So we’re playing Toronto in the 1st round unless we win on Wednesday, and Winnipeg loses their last 3 games in regulation (including tonight).

Edmonton. Easily, we’ve been able to mostly contain Drai and McDavid and Toronto is the much better team on paper. Also for me this is the year Toronto breaks the cant get past round 1 narrative

Well most of a season away from one or both of Phillip Danault & Brendan Gallagher seems to have driven Tomáš Tatar’s value down. I’d be wary as any team other than Montréal trying to sign him, since he’s honestly done nothing when he isn’t playing with Danault specifically. The team signing him needs to make sure he fits into their lineup as a complementary piece, and not out of place like Dadonov in OTT or Nyquist in CBJ.
