He either wants to play in a bigger market team or there's some conflict between Dubois and Torts behind the scenes.

    Those are my guesses anyway.

After seeing the torts interview I am convinced it’s a feud between the two of them.

Probably torts, but at the same time none of the other players seem to know why, or at least aren’t saying it if they do.

Also don’t be surprised if he isn’t moved till next offseason.

He doesn't want to play in Columbus.

It's not a very big market with a lot of drawing power. Young athletes making millions really don't want to be stuck in the middle of Columbus during their 20s and 30s, especially the players who have more say on where they would like to end up.

I don't think it has anything to do with John Tortorella. Torts has put a lot of faith in him and is the kind of player who thrives under him, so I think it's definitely that he believes he's bigger than the city.

"3. Hopefully, there’s eventual clarity on why Dubois wanted the change of scenery. He bought a place in Columbus last season. There’s something we’re not seeing."

All we can do is speculate but I thought that was an interesting tidbit.

Jarmo kekaleinen isn’t going or at least shouldn’t set precedent of trading a player just because he wants to go. How about man up and do your job.

Well then you can tell him he can sit and not take a paycheck but you don’t give them away and unless you get a really really really good deal setting the precedent of “I don’t want to be here so I’m gonna just talk my way out” is a stupid thing to do

take a play out of the Duchene trade play book and wait it out, eventually someone pays the asking price when you arent up against the clock to move them. Its annoying for fans and im sure annoying for players being asked about a players trade request

but you always can find a desperate GM eventually

I personally would want tortz as my coach but then again a lot of these millennials are soft entitled B's... CLB wouldn't be a great place for a 22 year old star to play...

To be honest, I think he's too good offensively to play in a Tortorella system and he knows it. Learning under Tortorella is never good for young offensive players, and he probably feels that he is wasting away in that system. I don't think it has anything to do with Columbus as a city, the recent mass exodus of free agents, or the caliber of players around him. I think it's solely about him feeling like he's being held back by Tortorella.
