It would be a shame if Vancouver declined

Especially after how good Holl looked tonight. He was confident and physical. I actually thought he carried Muzzin tonight. Muzzin certainly didn’t look bad, But after that big hit on Anderson in the 1st he kind of went away.

I really like the Leafs added depth tonight.......they are going to be a harder team to play against this year.

Never said that made them a powerhouse, or even that they were a powerhouse.

I realize that, but maybe you missed my initial point. The leafs didn't look like the powerhouse team this @TML_Tika is making them out to be

The Leafs are a powerhouse team because they have a Big 4 of Matthews, Marner, Tavares and Nylander and also Rielly, Thorton and Robertson.....There is simply no team in the NHL that can match their firepower interm of offense........great to see them turn on their game tonight and play some real fire wagon hockey.

The Avs and the flyers have a better forward group

Maybe the team that's led the league in scoring the last few seasons could put up a challenge? Idk though, I'm not a Leafs fans.

Yeah, besides the fact that they have that big 4, there really isn't that much going on behind them... their bottom 6 is pretty underwhelming compared to a lot of other "powerhouse teams" around the league.

The Leafs Bottom Six forwards of Kerfoot, Mikhevyev (Soupman), Hyman, Robertson, Spezza and Simmonds is a powerful bottom 6 forwards that no team in the NHL can match.......All six of these players are former or potential 20 plus goal scorers.......and Robertson has absolulely off the chart potential to become a big time goal scorer in the NHL........looks like alot of power to me on this bottom six.

You’re talking to a literal brick wall, these leads fans live in their own little fantasy I swear. They’re delusional, so I would just save your energy.

I guess you did not watch the Leafs game tonight.....it is going to be very difficult to shut down this current version of the Leafs as they just have too many weapons for a team to try to shut down......Also the fact that Matthews, Marner and Nylander are now hitting their peak years make this team really special and a true powerhouse in the NHL.

Robertson and Hyman are both potential 30 goal scorers.....Mikiheyev is just get getting started......Simmons and Kerfoot are solid veterans and Spezza is going to the Hockey Hall of Fame......looks like a great looking bottom six to me.

They still snagged the win. Leaf fans should be worried about fishing pucks outta their net still.

I am not really worried, it's the first game, it was bound to be sloppy. Two PP goals as well. The PK definitely needs work and Bogosian has 1 more game to prove he isn't a tire fire but beyond that, they did hold the advantage in shots, scoring chances and won. Fix the PK, tighten up the system and they'll be fine. Matthews almost prevented OT as well. Good game, Montreal will be a good team this season.
