Description
lines so far, i think i heard someone mention dubnyks kinda looking like the starter for night 1
also i’m really excited to see knyzhov and leonard play, and if donato can get his defensive play straight or what they do to counteract that
also what they’re gonna do with balcers interests me
let me know thoughts on the lines and what you think is gonna happen

Don't ask or count on Donato to ever be defensively sound. He got better as time went on with us, but his defensive skills still leave a lot to be desired. It's a far better idea to just let him play, do his thing, shoot the puck, and not worry about back checking beyond what he absolutely has to.

If your hoping that third line will be a shutdown checking line. I'm sorry to burst your bubble. shakes head

Just let Donato worry about the O-zone things. Put him with a couple strong d-zone FWDs and let him cheat out of the zone. He's really good with time and space, but a mild breeze would knock him off the puck last year.

No sir we are not. Sharks are done with dud third lines. The idea for this one is speed and attacking. Gregor and Nieto are speed demons, and Donato and the soon to arrive Balcers are fast offensive threats. New coach new theories

Good, glad to hear it!

He'll be great for you guys then. I'm still pretty high on him and still think he has top six potential, but he definitely needs to be in that sort of high energy attack style to be at his most effective.

Not exactly something we do much on the Wild, although under Evason so far it looks like we're trending a little bit more in that direction, but we'll always be a defense first style team.

Irregardless, I'll be keeping an eye on him this year and rooting for him all the way.

Yeah the sharks are trying to innovate and change the team up. They need depth scoring to do anything against good teams
