Memamoto would still find a way to argue that Edmonton won the Hall - Larsson trade

There was about a 1.5 year window where the trade was a win but not consecutively. If edmonton got a 1st round pick with him I'd say different.

The trade only looked DECENT in 2016/17. All downhill after there

I don't see how you go with Russell, Koekoek was even blocking shots.

he was also the reason Bo Horvat had break away and scored the first goal of the game, so they cancel each other out

For tonight's lineup:

- I agree that Shore or McLeod (my #1 choice) draws in for Khaira at 4C
- I agree with you swapping Ennis and Archibald, although I might also pull Chiasson for Nygard and run a Nygard-McLeod-Archibald 4th line
- I would think seriously about Bouchard getting in and sitting Larsson, I don't think Tippett does though
- Disagree with putting Koekkoek-Barrie up to 2nd pairing, they played ok but were higher event at both ends than Jones-Larsson
- I agree that Smith likely starts tonight

Overall, it looked like a sloppy pre-season game. Not good enough.

I found the Jones-Larsson pair extremely high event too last night, but only because of a disconnect. Jones likes to pinch a lot, for better or worse. I feel like Larsson hasn't fully picked up that he really just needs to hand back and play very in position. If he gets that they can be okay, but either Larsson needs to adjust his mindset or Jones needs to be less aggressive on the pinch. I would prefer the prior as I think Jones can be pretty effective at the opposition blueline.

Koekkoek and Barrie should get as many ozone f/o as possible. Love them in the opposition zone so much.

To me Khaira was never going to make it he was just in the lineup because of his cap hit to get max value from Klefbom's LTIR. Provided Shore clears waivers i think he or mcleod will be in the lineup for about 10 games so that they can get a fair chance to be evaluated. Kind of seems like the process they use to decide on players from last year anyways.

Shore cleared. I'm 99% sure they pull Khaira out tonight.
