I know there are some people out there that want LA to move a bit faster with their rebuild but i am one who actually wants to see what Vilardi, Turcotte, Bjornfot, Thomas, Kaliyev and Mikey Anderson can do before us just shipping them off in a trade. I feel like LA has done that with so many prospects and then you see them go off and be someone effective with the new team they are traded to(ex: Cernak on TB)

Pull Mickey Anderson & swap in Brock Faber (D)
PLD is a# 1 center (well #2 on LAK) , 22 years old, under team control for 4 more years.
This deal you would lose 1 roster player (Vialrdi) at a position the organization is deep at C.
He's not gonna come cheap. Kings got the assets to land him, Byfield & Dubois in 2 years would be ridiculous behind Kopitar as his productions starts to fall as he gets on the wrong side of 35 ...

LA having the assets doesnt make it any less of an overpayment, they would probably very likely a better team not doing your trade, thats how lopsided it is

Swapping in Faber makes it a more realistic option in terms of straight value since there's not a pick involved. Even with that, you're asking for a potential 1C, top-4 Dman (I'm high on Faber, but I'm higher on Anderson), top-6 sniper, and a middle-6 skill guy in return. That's a huge ask for someone who's going to play 2C on the Kings. In addition, I still think Kaliyev is off-limits as an ask as he's the only pure sniper the Kings have in their system and they are in DESPERATE need of scoring. Overall, I'd still say no to the trade. I agree with my fellow Kings fan above in that the Kings need to see what they have in their prospects first. No need to go swooping after the first big name that's available.

You're not getting both Turcotte and Vilardi for PLD. If the trade is only one of Turcotte/Vilardi, plus Thomas and Durzi, I think the Kings would consider it. I'm unclear if that's what you meant in your trade comments.

I don't know, the only difference for 2021 would be Dubois in over Vilardi ... Kaliyev is a year away maybe 2 if his skating doesn't improve a little bit, Madden 2 or more years away from NHL ready and what's his ceiling 3C? 4C? & with the LAK C depth, Faber likely 3 years away.
Granted the Kings are rebuilding so there's no rush, but with all the assets at C, Vilardi, Byfield, Turcotte, Kupari, Thomas , Madden ... you tend to trade from your strengths ..
The Kings get the best player in the deal, he's already a proven NHL commodity & again, he's 22.

So lets keep Kaliyev out.

Kupari C

Apparently Dubois wants to play for a big market team with a lot of media coverage, specifically Montreal. That would cross LA off the board. Not sure the Kings would want a player that gives up on his team within the first 3-4 years especially for that price.
