Pierre-Luc Dubois isn't worth that kind of a haul. He plays second line minutes with production that really doesn't show he's worth 3 first round prospects, already no way you could get Suzuki and/or this is a heavy overpayment for a guy who plays 2nd line minutes on CBJ even, I wouldn't be surprised if Montreal would keep Danault as their number 1 center. So this deal just doesn't work imo.

Probably Suzuki + Caufield would be enough.

That's too much, again Blue Jackets aren't on the high ground here, they either get the little value they can for him or he just doesn't play. No team is going to give up 2 First Round Pick Prospects for Pierre-Luc Dubois a 2C as of right now in best form. He isn't worth it to cough up 2 first round guys. He isn't proven, and he's not a consistent guy, teams won't risk him being complete crap when he does get traded. I think Montreal needs to make a move, but it's gonna be a move that benefits the defense not the offense.

How can he not play? He has no choice unless he wants to sit out for 4 years.

If Dunn asked for a trade would you trade him for pennies on the dollar or tell him to suck it up because he's an RFA.

He can sit out look what Nylander did, Blue Jackets have a better chance at trading him away.

Nylander wasn't under contract... if he was on the Blues you'd have a completely different tone.

I'm not a fan of the Blue Jackets but I'm simply saying trading him for scraps simply isn't worth it.

I’m not saying scraps I’m just not reading 15 arms and 92 legs worth of a haul for a player who doesn’t even wanna be on your team, the team trading for him still has more high ground.

If Dubois wanted to stay I wouldn't move him for Suzuki + Caufield. Number 1 centres don't grow on trees.

Dubois is only a year older than Suzuki and is still improving.

But Dubois doesn't want to stay and Suzuki is producing better than Dubois from advanced analytics standpoint. The difference is 8 points, sure that's really not much, but Suzuki on the defensive side of things makes Dubois look silly, and he costs more than Suzuki right now, so the chances are Dubois doesn't even make a Top 6 Center spot, so again I say Montreal isn't willing to pay up to what Columbus wants,, and he doesn't want to stay. Columbus most likely going to have to bite the bullet, unless somehow he gets traded for cheaper, or another team thinks he's worth it, but simply put Dubois isnt worth 2 A Prospects. I'm sorry he's just not worth it at all.

Suzuki isn't better than Dubois defensively that's just Montreal hype. CBJ play a very defensive style of game that lowers the production of the forwards, much like the NYI.

Anything less than Suzuki + Caufield would be way under value for Dubois. Even that would be a very nice trade for Montreal.

I look at advanced stats like normal for my thesis, Trust me, if you want me to pull the statistics up, Dubois is going to play like sh*t if you want me to pull up QoC v QoT. Not to mention his finishing is not good, he's furthest from good on defense. If you count bubble play I think you are hilarious we throw that out. The guy put up 49 points in 70 games. You call that Elite????? BAHAHAHAHAHA oh this website and the people on it. So much for defense when he is a -2 +/- so much for a elite 1C with 18 goals. He's never hit 30 goals in a season.

Because the bubble play was so sporatic. You had one week of training camp for some teams. You didn't carry momentum from regular season, the sloppy play. Some players did better than their normal play, and others play like crap worse than they normally play.

They had a long layoff before the bubble. I think Dubois improved significantly between the regular season and the bubble which makes sense considering he was only 21.

YOu think he improved....doing nothing for months while COVID prohibited him from doing anything.......i'm impressed with you sticking with it, but that doesn't make any sense at all just because he's 21 you don't get better for doing nothing at home.
