It was posted by a Flames fan so they can't back out.

A cap dump, someone who hasn't played a game and a 1st for Gaudreau? No thanks

I disagree. Is that a great deal for Buffalo quality wise? Yes. Is it the right deal? No! Buffalo doesn’t need more wingers and they’re not in a position to start trading off multiple 1st round picks (especially for a player whose contract expires next year). The Sabres need depth at center, better prospect depth, better D, and a good goaltender. This trade would make them better now (still not a contender), but weaken them long term.

If you’re gonna trade 1’s, this is not the trade.

If you had insider info that says Hall is staying long term then I'd like to know about it. But the assumption is that Hall is going to be a whole new negotiation to try and keep him this offseason with plenty of suitors. If you move out Okposo and lose Hall the money becomes available to fix your back end issue via free agency. This solves most of their issues.

Take it easy. It’s just a conversation. Hall doesn’t come in to play for me. It’s about Buffalos prospect depth. They have none. If Hall leaves, the Gaudreau trade is even worse in my opinion.

What was aggressive about that? It is certainly possible that I missed out on info about Hall. That was an actual question.

If Hall leaves you want to replace him and keep the push going. This team is not in a rebuild anymore. I also didn't like Quinn in the juniors.

My bad. I read that line as sarcasm.

If Hall leaves, I just don’t think it’s wise to spend multiple 1st round picks on a winger with 1 yr remaining on his contract. I’d rather invest in center, D, or a goalie.

Also, moving out Okposo does nothing for me. They’d be better off buying him out next year than giving up high picks to entice someone enough to take him.

How much space do they lose if they buyout Okposo?

And it should obviously be noted that extending Gaudreau would be a priority.

Also you would be investing in a D or goalie because Okposo's money goes towards a FA.
