i feel like we lose this deal, Armia and Byron are good players and while White has potential he hasn't lived up to it yet

Exactly. He's 22. He needs to learn. People are going to act as if these lines are set in stone. They really aren't. Long season ahead if we all think that Anisimov is a good 2C.

Wolanin is probably the second best defenceman on the sens roster right now. Don’t think Ottawa would switch him out for Kulak or Byron 1 for 1, so combining that with trying to buy low on White definitely wouldn’t work.

He's actually fifteen days away from being 24. I know that still seems young, but that's about the time when most players are done improving and are just in their prime.

As for the trade, I think this is risky enough that with White's contract being a million years long you probably just let Ottawa take the risk of having him with the potential payoff being he improves, and the downside being they are trying to be bad anyway so who cares if he's also bad. No reason for Montreal to take that risk while they're gunning for the playoffs right now and for the foreseeable future.

My mistake. This year has been a blur because of *gestures vaguely to the world state*... I think Prime years are 26 to 31. He's entering his prime, I guess. Still young. And you're right, they aren't in win now mode and I don't think being in an all Canadian Division helps them at all.

No thank you. The only thing attractive about White is his age. His contract is terrible and he is terrible. Unless it starts with a 1st round pick + top end prospect, no team in the league should trade for him.
