I don't get Montreal fans. You guys are getting a 1C in PLD and won't give up the guy who would be your 3C in KK? Why would CBJ do this? PLD is worth Suzuki+. If you can get him for KK+ that'd be a huge win for Montreal.

PLD is NOT worth Suzuki+. Closer to free agency, way more expensive, wants out, not more productivr than Zuk...

I don’t think Ghule is the prospect that would interest CLB. His potential is limited and he is Canadian. The word on the street is that CLB wants american prospects for marketing.

Harris, Strubble or Caufield would earn more serious considerations.

PLD is better than Suzuki.
Can make cap work in any trade cus it certainly wouldn't be PLD for KK straight up.
Danault is an average 2C or a good 3C if your team is any good. Not a 1C.

But PLD isnt better than Suzuki. In terms of Value right now they're equal. There is also a legit argument that Suzuki is better. PLD is clearly better than KK right now and for that he has higher value but in terms of ceiling its similar. I can get down with a KK plus type of trade but if I'm the habs I'd push Danault plus picks and prospects more. They have a ton of assets that could get PLD that would not include KK or Suzuki. If we are strictly speaking value of PLD. Columbus can ask for whatever they want but with MB's track record I doubt the habs are going to overpay for PLD. Especially since they are already set at C

PLD and Suzuki both have way higher ceilings than KK. PLD is a proven commodity and Suzuki had 1 pretty good season. I'm fine with mtl saying Suzuki is off the table but to most mtl fans won't even give up KK. It's ridiculous. PLD is a really good young 1C with team control who's been putting up points on a bad offensive team. Those guys are never available via trade. The cost is gonna be high. Danault doesn't get it done. Not including a promising young center doesn't get it done. Cbj isn't about to have Foudy as their 1C. Start thinking about what the team you're trading with wants and stop thinking you can get one of the most rare and valuable assets on the trade market without giving up some pieces you're not too happy to lose.

I dont understand the mind set of saying Danault doesn't get it done. When you could add multiple first rounders, Caufield, Struble, Norlinder, Romanov (they wont) Guhle, etc etc etc. Clearly you can add a ton to Danault trsde that in terms of value get it done. And KK's ceiling is very high. You can say the odds of actually fulfilling that ceiling is low compared to PLD's odds and that's definitely true at this moment. That's why I wouldn't but I could live with and understand a KK plus type of trade. Suzuki imo will be the more complete player than PLD when they hit their peak. So imo they cant even entertain that possibility of Suzuki being included.
