the difference between Chara and Orlov is pretty vast . Orlov is easily a 1-2 LHD Chara "slow and old" ( i personally dont think hes nearly as bad as people claim). Rangers imo would benefit the most from Orlov but Boston is fresh on D and idk if that helps them win today as much as it does tomorrow. Either way point taken like you said depend on how the kids play

NYR 2021 1st pick could be another lottery pick & they'd need to move a contract (Smith?) to make it work for this year, so id say pass, & maybe they take a dive into the 2021 UFA pool for a 2-3 year LD, maybe not as solid as as Orlov.

Rangers would pass. Bruins wouldn't but the Capitals wouldn't do it with someone they could very likely be playing in the playoffs.

Kings would definitely do that so I don't think the Capitals should.
