If the young guys struggle (which they probably will) they 100% should. Boston’s left side is among the worst in the NHL. I’d say only Detroit, NYR, and LA are worse

They let Chara go to give the kids a chance, they let Krug go because they wanted better 5 on 5 defence. Yandle is a mix of both reasons they let go of those 2 older and bad 5 on 5. Never mind his high cap hit with some term and NMC forcing the Bruins to protect him from Seattle meaning they likely lose Grzelcyk or Carlo.

A user posted if he was willing to waive his NMC to Seattle the following year, then it would make sense.

If they wanted someone like Krug they would of kept Krug if they wanted a veteran defender they would of kept Chara and Yandle will be forced to be protected in expansion

Way too big of a risk that he chooses not to like Dion didn’t waive his for Ottawa when Vegas came in

100% agreed.

Your D is very weak on the offense front. If one of Grz/McAvoy goes down, who steps up on the PP?

Agreed. Tough to convince a guy to waive and leave his hometown after being traded there. There will be other players who make more sense then Yandle if they have to go that route

If Gryz and McAvoy go down I think they will have bigger problems than the PP. Yandle’s contract and NMC make it very difficult for the bruins. If he was a pending UFA I would get it. But I just don’t think it’s a good fit for the team now and going forward

Right agreed. I think the ideal would be to get a good 2 way guy such as Goligoski or Keith. But Yandle would still help to a degree. But I agree with you, again, to a degree
