They're both #1Centers on contending teams. That's enough of a similarity to draw comparisons in my view. I agree that Suzuki is on track to be more of a Bergeron type 200 foot player, but he can become an elite goal scorer, too. He's got that offensive potential.
Maybe, Point is a hard player to compare people to.

The original post said MTL needed a game breaker like Point, Kuch, etc... Someone said Suzuki could be that guy. I said Suzuki is better now then either Point or Kuch at that age, which is undeniable. I never said they were the same type of player, aside from the fact that they're good players and Point is a #1 C.

Point and Kuch are not good comparables for that though. Since they were later round picks they took more time to develop and were sheltered more. Nothing against Suzuki, just not a strong argument since its based off of completely different development paths
Carolina had a couple more players test positive, after Jordan Staal, they have added to the list Teravaienen, Foegele, Martinook and Slavin, which are big losses for the Carolina especially Slavin and Teuvo

Wow. thats a good chunk of the team lost. good luck replacing them.
Most frusttrating part, is theyre probably all asymptomatic. Just salt in the wound.
I know it's not really relevant to the forum topic, but we have some openings for assistant GMs as part of the GM Game on this site. If you're interested in becoming part or what to learn more about it, drop on by this thread: https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/406387

I think eventually they should just force teams that can't ice a roster due to COVID forfeit games.

That’d be more trouble than it’s worth because of broadcast obligations and divisional opponents complaining. The NHL gave themselves some buffer room at the end of the season for a reason.

I know it's pretty dracoian to just outright have the team forfeit, but I'd only consider it if a team is constantly having their players getting COVID and constantly having games postponed.
he is just on the taxi squad to save the owners some coin. The same thing will happen with evans, romanov, kk, suzuki
What are you talking about? Geoff Moulson doesn’t care about a few thousand dollars. They’re being sent down so we accrue more cap space, that way we have more room for additions at the deadline and making sure we don’t have any performance bonus overages. If Moulson was really that cheap, we wouldn’t be spending to the cap.

I guess if it gets really bad, but as of right now the NHL is fine with rescheduling. However, if a team has a secondary outbreak after the first one blows over, the NHL would definitely have to look into some things.

You're missing the entire point. Probably on purpose, but idk.

I thought this was being done to save the team money. How does this help for the deadline if there is the cap and if you go over it you can't play. Do you have a certain amount you can spend per season and you can bank money to use later and be over the cap or am I missing something?

Cap is calculated daily. Saving 7K a day means we can bring in about 1 Million at the trade deadline or have Perry with the team full time opposed to the Taxi Squad.
