I'd be shocked if Edmonton, Vancouver or Ottawa made playoffs tbh

don't count out McDavid but it looks like they will miss

Wouldn't be shocked, but ya, I don't think any of those 3 will make the playoffs

Ottawa, I'd be surprised. Not at all for the other two, though. We're so early in, and with all the games being in division, both of those teams are like a hot week away from being right back in the mix.

If I had to bet, I'd say it's Winnipeg, Toronto, Calgary, and Montreal (not in order), but there would zero shock for me if Vancouver or Edmonton made it.

They've been pretty good so far. I'm still waiting for a decisive win from them though.

yea but what they always struggled with were these close grind-it-out games. I'd rather see them be able to win these tightly contested games that they are known to blow

ya thats what I mean I'm happy that they have closed that type of game out this year. Every win of the year pretty much has been like that for the Leafs which is good thing.

I still like VAN. So much high end talent. Just terrible defensively right now. I think they gave up like 25 shots against OTT tonight in the 1st period. If they can get even mediocre defense and goaltending they'll be right there with CGY and WPG. But, that's a big "IF." I say, VAN makes the playoffs.

I agree. But I would be somewhat surprised if EDM made it. I still think VAN will make it. MTL and TOR are a step above the pack.

i said a while back that it would be 1-2 toronto montreal in no particular order then 3-5 would be separated by like 4 points with winnipeg, calgary, and edmonton (Again no particular order) and vancouver and ottawa would be left behind. I just dont see vancouvers roster being able to compete with a toronto, winnipeg, montreal or even calgary. they just lost too many important pieces. 1d, top6 forward, starting goalie. They will be fine in a couple years once some of that dead weight comes off the books but until then... sorry vancouver fans.

No matter where he was going they would’ve needed to send cap back. And unless Rutherford planned to rebuild, he’d probably want a defenseman back.

Good thing they drew the line at the 33 year old defenseman.

Yeah. It seems like Lemieux might be a bit too close to the players to be able to make management decisions.

Why does the Leafs - Edmonton game have to be so late tn? Is there a factor I'm missing? Like they are two hours behind us so if the game started at like 6:30 Edmonton time it would be 8:30 Toronto and would actually be a easily watchable game for everyone. I get it when there are fans there because you want the time that maximizes ticket sales but I feel like this gets the best of both worlds in terms of TV viewers.

TV allotment. 7 ET and 10 ET are the two common times to start a hockey game.

For example, Sportsnet West is running the Calgary/Montreal game at 7 ET tonight, and then the Toronto/Edmonton game at 10 ET. The three hours allows them to run two games in fulll without one cutting into the other.

Game times are almost always dependent on broadcasting instead of in fan attendance.

Well considering Vegas whole coaching staff was in isolation, this was the next obvious move

this season is almost comical with the amount of games that are being pp'd.
