I agree. He's in the perfect situation in MIN, too. Top line, top PP, big minutes.

Only thing missing is a 1C. Right now he has a revolving door of Victor Rask, Bjugstad, and Bonino shakes head really hope Guerin can get him a PLD or Barkov...

I think it's fair to say when the goalie isn't giving up anything with your usual setups, it would be worth it to fire into the crowd and get something not as pretty.

But I'm not a coach/player. A lot of their offense has been getting bad bounces so maybe it's better to just stick to it.

No I hear you. A top Goalie like Hellebuyck is gonna stop the puck if he has an unobstructed view. They gotta figure out how to score some more dirty goals, especially against the better teams.

Interesting fact: Nick Suzuki is now the most valuable Young Guns RC from the 2019-20 class. In fact, only Matthews, McDavid, MacKinnon, Pasta, Ovechkin, and Sid are worth more right now (active players). Crazy.

Edmonton Oilers

honestly not even shocked by the Oilers start to the year. Outside of the big 4 on offence the team is really poorly constructed. Questionable in net, really bad defence core (particularly without Klefbom), and the F depth is quite questionable as well. This team's peak this year would be a squeak into the playoffs. Leafs, Habs, Flames, Canucks, Jets, Oilers, Ottawa are my rankings currently.

Oilers are solely dependent on godly performances from McDavid and Draisaitl every night and it shows.

Complete breakdown by the Canucks today after the 1st period. It's like they straight up forgot how to play hockey

Hopefully they stay that way for at least the next 3 games. Montreal has a chance to prey on other teams struggling at the start.

Kosk was pretty good tonight, but he faces way too many high danger chances. Like you said, they need way more from guys like Turis and Barrie. Keep McDavid and Leon to 2 points combined and you beat them 90% of the time.

Honestly, Johansson and Duchene really need to step up. $16M combined AAV and I'm not sure they're worth half of that.

Dominant performance after the 1st period. Our top guys look to be back to 2019 form, plus we now have the progression of Anderson, Vali, Dube and Mangiapane and Markstroms addition. Not too mention Tanev who is outstanding. Only weakness is no true elite dman. Anderson may be that however. Josh Leivo rebounded nicely today. If this team wants to make a run, they’re going to need Ras to be a #1 and Sam Bennett to step up. Not impressed this season with Bennett so far but he’s a huge piece

Montreal is doing great though they need to take less penalties
Edmonton Oilers
Koskinen was better in this game but again the defence in front of him didn’t help too much

Troy Grosenick is the only one who can save us. He had a shutout 6 years ago. God bless him.

This is a really solid hockey team. They're right there with MTL for best in Canada, imo. Leafs are 3rd, but a close 3rd. CGY has no major weaknesses.

I know it might be leafs bias but Leafs #1, toss up between MTL and CGY for #2. I guess we'll see.

Lines I asked for last night...
Hall - Eichel - (REINHART)
(SKINNER) - Staal - Ollofson
(THOMPSON) - Eakin - Cozens
(REIDER) - Lazar - Sheahan

In order of ice time per pairing
Dahlin - Montour
McCabe - Risto
Miller - Jokiharju

Ullmark
Hutton

Lines we got
Hall - Eichel - (REINHART) A++ Looks like the best line in hockey
(Cozens) - Staal - Ollofson B+ Ollofson and Cozens looked really good, Staal should get better I think, might be slightly banged up.
(THOMPSON) - Eakin - Reider B, they did ok, but I mean they weren't amazing in the ozone and they seemed to be playing mostly in the Nuetral zone.
(Skinner) - Lazar - Sheahan A+ Skinner is back to being a star in this league, he has had 2 dominate games (the last 2) and don't everything right except he hasn't been able to cash in. As soon as his scoring touch is returned the league better watch out. Lazar had 2 goals in 12 minutes, Sheahan had a beautiful pass for lazar's second.

In order of ice time per pairing
Dahlin - Montour
McCabe - Risto
Miller - Jokiharju

Johanson
Hutton
