Who is Vancouver currently rolling out at 2RW? If Joseph bumps Johnson off the second line, Johnson might be open to a midseason trade.

Detroit declines. A 3rd is not enough to take a bottom 6 player(which we have in spades) for 2 years at 3m. I'd rather let our kids play.

Just doing the math ok...

1) cap doesn’t work
2) 1yr cap dump for 4yrs of 5m for a 30yr old
3) cap needed to sign Petey & Hughes
4) a 3rd added seems fair but...
5) straight up 1 for 1 would gets JB interested.

No can do although I like TJ & it doesn’t work at this time.
Other dominos need to fall to even entertain this.
Wings won’t take Beagle. Kills any chance cap wise.

Yup and yup. Plus, TB wants TJ gone so badly that they would be the one giving up the 3rd (likely a 2nd) in order to do this deal.

I see how it fills and immediate need, but the Baertschi contract is up at the end of the year. Why would they swap that for a guy that is making more money with term? They need money for Pettersson and Hughes. At this point they cant even afford to keep Tanner Pearson. Also Canucks will be stuck with Beagle until his contract is up
