Reminder: Bjugstad went for a heavily protected 7th round pick.

Damn forgot about that. He is the wild 1C though. I would take out mittetstadt in this trade and change to a 5th rounder.

Bjugstad could be a good third line centre for the sabres as a rental. much better than Lazar.

I can't see MTL taking Hutton, they already have Allen, I could see them being interested in Montour tho

Bjugstad's value could be high or it could be nothing as a rental. So many questions about his health and if he can rebound into a useful player.

Being the Wild's 1C doesn't hold much meaning, their center depth is pretty putrid.

That the Wild paid to get him is irrelevant to what somebody else might pay. The reason he came so cheap was because he was a cap dump with injury issues. If he looks healthy, a 3rd/4th is on the cheap end for a depth forward with skill. Like another poster said, he’d fit in well as a 3C if he shows he can stay healthy.

He's not a 3C.

Noted. Historically, I’d say he’s been hurt too much to prove he’s a middle 6 player but his point totals in his healthy years very much point to that. If I was a betting man, I would say his injury history keeps him from being traded rather than his ability.

I’d rather not get mittlestadt and have a higher draft pick. Mittlestadt has tons of promise but it just hasn’t translated for some reason.

Yes, but I think Bjugstad is an injury risk regardless of how well he plays and don’t expect anything more than a 3rd. It doesn’t hurt to have Mittlestadt but he doesn’t do anything either way, maybe they can use him for the expansion draft? He just isn’t strong enough, he had so much skill he never had to put the work in until he got to the pros and then IDK if he can change his game enough to use that skill.
