Why I Dont Want PLD 2

Description

The original trade costs us Danault + Norlinder + Kulak + 1st + 2nd. That is a lot to give up but this is the year where things get worse. We definitely lose Tatar for nothing. Look at the long term outlook we have 14 Mil to reup PLD which likely costs 8 Mil Suzuki costs 6 Mil that is all 14 Mil space with Romanov still needing a new contract as well. Plus Evans, Mete and we need a replacement for Edmundson if you let him walk in FA as well. All this has to be done with no cap space. So that means trading players. This is why for me PLD makes no sense. The original trade may be fair but from there the trade goes to pot. We have to give up Tatar for nothing then choose between 2 of PLD, Suzuki or Romanov. No thanks!!

1. Tatar is leaving anyway at tge end of the season, Dubois or not.
2.capspace will be created by the Seattle expansion pick.
3. Dont resign Armia
4. Just dump Byron's final year.

you let the depth go and keep the high end players. move on from byron, armia, lehkonen and maybe drouin

So then your looking at the total price for acquiring 1 PLD being Lehkonen + Tatar + Danault + Norlinder + Byron + Drouin and Armia. So 3 top 6 forwards, 3 depth forwards and an A+ top 4 D prospect. I am not sure I would give that much up for MacKinnon or McDavid.

Habs fans need to relax and let kk and Suzuki develop, kk needs top 6 min to make it worth while so you might as well bargain shop the 3c and 4c over having 3 centers making money. If you want Dubois, I would try to let them bite on kk and lessen the package, but in a build for dominance there is no quick fix, enjoy the process.

I don’t know why you keep saying they’ll lose Tatar as a result of getting Dubois. Danault and Dubois will make a similar amount of money next year. Tatar is gone anyway.
