Meier was a monster that game, Labanc and Couture weren't too bad either, and I really liked the 3rd line's play. The Hertl line didn't play too great, but we know what they're capable of, the 4th line was pretty bad, and the 3rd pair and Jones were God awful. Hopefully Simek and Dubnyk are the answers to those last 2 problems.

I'd have to look back at the game to see how Couture did, but I know Labanc at least had a solid game. And I agree, Middleton was directly responsible for 2 goals allowed today, and he needs to get benched. Wouldn't hurt to give Pasichnuk a try on that 3rd pair next to Simek, can't be any worse than what we got today.

Labanc drives me ****ing insane sometimes man. He just doesn’t get the job done when it’s needed. He’s not fast, he’s not shifty, he never wins board battles, and he’s a liability defensively. I know he could be better than he was tonight but I’m just tired of the same **** from him.

Couture Karl and Burns were all lackluster again imo. Jones didn’t play great but getting a save from him is a tough ask when every player on the ice is out for a beer while 20 coyotes walk within 2 feet of the net and hack away. So much for netfront defending.

On a more positive note, Meier, Hertl, Marleau, Gregor and Ferraro were guys I was pleased with this game. So at least that’s a silver lining. Let’s just pack up forget about this game and get on to the next one.

the teams honestly had a lot of luck. most of our goals havent even been legit goals lol... this is not a good look if were barely scoring relevant goals even when we won and now we lost and still most of our goals are coming off of puck luck/ weird bounces. we need real offence and real efforts every night as a whole team otherwise id like to see the "shark tank" begin!

Someone needs to slap Karlsson, every single time the puck is turned over, he just stops in place waiting for something to happen, and then immediately gets burned, he's done it at least 5 times already, its driving me insane.

Not sure I agree. The goals were lucky but the offense is there. Arizona just has amazing goalies. Sharks are really working the O zone systems this year and it will show against weaker goalies. Only issue is not getting blown in our own zone.

I don't think we looked amazing for all 60 though, and then as you say we get blown in our own zone. I like the tempo we play with on the third line, and our PP looks like its improved. But the effort level and inconsistency is going to hurt us. Our second line went from hero to zero and Meier looked good both games whereas I'm left desiring more from couture and labanc still. Defense is still our main issue but our offence needs to break through, there's a lot of good goalies.
