Description

Dell is obviously as good an option we can get to replace Smith's absence. I may have preferred Dell be signed as the backup this summer over Smith anyway. I have to imaging the Oil will claim, since being another Canadian team the wait time to get Dell in is so much shorter as well, waive Grosenick to be #3 on taxi once he is through quarantine and then send Skinner down for AHL time when the ice in Bake opens up. Just have to hope no other team claims ahead of the Oil...that would be too much agony loool.

The Oilers would be foolish not to put a claim on him TBH.

Easy fix for a capable back up at minimal salary and no loss of assets.

Well, if they claim him and start him against the Leafs it basically guarantees the Oilers a win.

Oh I imagine so. Only question is if there is a team in the order ahead of them who needs a goalie too...but I don't think there is, definitely not for a #2 role that the Oil need rn. Any other team would have to keep 3 or re-waive Dell too I guess

Yeah...makes a lot of sense. I guess with the 2 weeks at least of quarantine delays over the borders I wonder how many teams will claim, but really CHI doesn't have much to lose experimenting for another 2 weeks with the current goalies. No big expectations on the season anyway.
