That's a lot of cheddar for Danault... I'd rather just wait until the next offseason and throw like $10-11M at Barkov. I'd also sign Kaprizov long-term. He's the real deal.

Eh if kaprizov has a good season, he’ll be getting more than 3.5. Gusev is worse and got 4.5, I’d expect kaprizov to take 5.5-6m on a 1-2 year deal. If he goes long term probably 8-9m.

I am comparing this amount to what Kubalik got. Don't know exactly how the season will go but anywhere in the 3.5-4M range given the league cap seems likely on 2 years.

Ya probably. I think 6x5 is fair, but then I'd get the Habs fans calling for my head (yes, they're the most delusional fanbase on this website... but they do have a valid point that MTL likely pays him a solid to keep him around)

The max I would give him is 5x5. He gets 1C minutes and linemates and puts up 2C numbers. He's a low 2/high 3 at best.

Wild aren’t in a cap crunch, they’re more than okay to give kaprizov 5-6 on a bridge. There’s no reason for him to take less considering what gusev got, what fiala got, what Anderson just signed for, what toffoli got, Gallagher. There are a lot of winger comparisons if he puts up like a 40-45 pt season like he probably will. He’s their most highly touted player too, he’ll be paid appropriately.

I have Danualt going for around the same contract ($5.8 x 5) as Henrique. Even with the flat cap I can't seem him less than $5m/yr. $6.5m is the highest I see him getting, but with the way Guerin overpays players $7m x 7 with a full NMC might happen.

Issue is that nobody you just mentioned, aside from Fiala's bridge, are coming off ELCs. There's no way MIN will give a 2 year bridge at 5.5 (unless he really shocks us all).... they go long term if this is the case.

You can’t consider him an ELC player, he’s 23, and has been sh*tting on the KHL for the past few years. Think about sorokin, he just came over and got 2m after playing 0 games, if kaprizov puts up 43 pts in 56 games he’ll be getting 5-6m on a 1-2 year deal, and 7-8m on a 6-7 year deal no problem. He was over a PPG in the KHL last year, gusev came over after being over a PPG as a 26 year old, and got 4.5m for 2 year. Kaprizov is better and younger. Regardless of this flat cap situation, the wild have 0 cap issues and they’ll pay him fairly.

Danault is more like a 5mx5yr player. Kk will end up going more like 8 years 8m. Depending on how fiala shapes up this season you’re looking about right there. Still think getting barkov or offer sheeting for petterson is what will stand between the wild and being contenders in a 2 year span.
