So right now, the Leafs have 3 better players on their 3rd line. Dermott may fit into Winnipeg's top 4 but wouldn't that mean he is way more valuable to Winnipeg than Roslovic would be to TO?

3 better players? Looking at the depth chart of:
Hyman-Matthews-Nylander
Miyk-Tavares-Marner

Roslovic would be better than any of the options on their third line except Kerfoot, and potentially Robertson but not at the moment

How? Mikheyev, Hyman and Kerfoot are better than him and that literally is the 3rd line.

I think he means that if Joe and Vesey played at their level (bottom six level) then their bottom six would look like:
Kerfoot-Joe-Simmonds?
Vesey-Spezza-Barabanov

All in all, that's not a great bottom six

I have like Thorton on the top line. And although I am not overly sold on Vesey, he did look good last night. And the 3rd line has been really good 2 straight games. I never want to see Marincin in the lineup again so I am very happy with keeping Dermott.

Offensive lineup should look like this IMO:
Hyman-AM-WN
Vesey-JT-MM(I prefer the chemistry between JT and MM than between MM and AM)
Kerfoot-Joe-Mikheyev
Barabanov-Spezza-Simmonds

Thornton shouldn’t be top line left wing LOL. Leafs depth is just weak so they try to balance their lines

I just don't think Thorton can play centre any more. And he has made some good plays with Matthews. I would like to see Nylander with those two since it would let Thorton be the main play maker and give him two terrific shooters. Marner with JT and whoever can let Marner do what he does best which is playmake. I am getting so annoyed with him shooting so much. I thought the 3rd line has really come on the past 2 games. And the 4th line is likely way better than most others.

I'm sorry? Joe is great in the faceoff dot and still has decent 2 way skills, he'd be a great 3C

Not at all, they pumped Ottawa last night. Sure it was only Ottawa but when you 13-3 in shot attempts and insane possession numbers that is good. Thorton can still dish the puck and he's so big. Until it's clear it's detrimental to the line I would stick with it. Plus it does mean we have such a better 3rd line. Also you are a Pens fan, you've seen Crosby work with 3rd and 4th liners his entire career.

Nah he doesn't have the quickness to get down the ice at centre. Best keep him on the wing where he doesn't need to cover as much ground.

Sid has never played with a player like Thornton for an extended period of time. The dude is washed. He looked awful against Ottawa the previous game. Same against MTL. I didn’t watch the last one. He can’t get up and down the ice quick enough to keep up with Matthews and Nylander.

Thorton does so man little puck plays that most people don't notice, just little chips to open ice where Matthews and Marner can fly to and make plays. He's still good. And can definitely cycle the puck still. He's fine there.

More proven that Dermot? Dermot check his stats and 17 minutes a game Despite being saddled with two poor partners in the past two seasons and now Bogosian, Dermot consistently has been best Dman of his pairing.
Dermot 160 games 40 points plus 25
Roslovic 180 games 67points plus 6
Sure looks like Dermot has far more on ice value

More proven? What has Roslovic proven? That he can be an adequate bottom 6 player? Dermott has completely proven he can be a terrific bottom pair defenceman. Dermott is fine where he is.

We're comparing a middle six forward to a bottom pair defensemen yet to play a full NHL season due to his injury history. Out of junior everyone expected Dermott to have a much more significant role with the Leafs. Yet over the years, we've seen the Leafs bring in more and more defensemen to play ahead of him in the lineup. I personally don't think the leafs need Roslovic (Their lines just stink), but Dermott isn't anything special.

I wouldn’t mind the trade. We can replace dermott and a forward is better for the expansion draft. However, he has missed camp and the start of the season. I believe he is in the states and would need to quarantine. Based on that no interest , peg can keep his rights.

How is Roslovic a middle 6 player? He has never played in a top 6 in the NHL. Also "over the years", he's 23. What are you freaking talking about.

Well he may not be that special but right now he is the fifth Dman on a playoff team. Until the Leafs get someone better he stays. Gee, he's probably better than most teams 5th Dman. Gee, Dermot was drafted believe 34th and Roslovic 25th. Seems like Roslovic has disappointed.
