Too many retained contracts, also have no interest in the Shaw trade. Hawks don't need another defenseman. Play Beaudin or Kalynuk instead.

Rather just keep shaw and the draft picks and play the kids. Dell is pretty unnecessary too. This team isn't gonna be good this year. Why claim a NHL backup goalie that might get you a couple more wins? We don't want wins. This season we want to see what the kids can do.

yeah that toronto trade is pretty brutal for us even if we arent retaining on Shaw. No need for Dermott, especially not for our 2nd rounder

I don't really want shaw but would be interested in Nylander in the offseason.

Yeah, if the Leafs could afford it I would absolutely do that.

honestly while its gonna be an issue for Dell to go (due to our AHL situation) you guys need a starting goalie and Dell can at least do Better than Subban and Delila

Let the hockey gods be in your favor as this is just getting sad.

Or Carlsson who was solid last year when he was played

I know you're higher on him than I am, but at this point it doesn't even matter. 10 wins would be surprising at this rate. Play whoever. I don't even care anymore.

I wasn't necessarily against trading Saad, but Zadarov is not a great return. The game is faster, and Zadarov although an opposing force in front of our net doesn't have much speed to him. I'd much rather see Carlsson, Kalynuk or Beaudin on the 3rd pairing and have traded Saad for picks or a prospect not a guy who sat in the press box on one of the top 10 teams in the league. That trade enrages me.

I much rather see Kalynuk or Beaudin get a legitimate shot. Carlsson had more games than both of them and failed to stick. If neither of them two stick, circle back to Carlsson. But as I mentioned, at this point there's no sense in winning. I'd be shocked if they win 10 games. Let's just have the kids play.

I woudln't say Carlsson failed to stick as much as he was a plug for emergencies and Boqvist and Mitchell and adding Zadarov is causing him to fall in the depth chart. Beaudin, I believe is a 3rd liner, but his skill set as a puck moving non physical defender is better suited for top 4....will he get there? I'm not so sure, maybe a #4 guy at best. Carlsson is definitely more a bottom line player which is fine. Kalynuk is a wild card, but would love to see him play. I think we win 12 to 15 games this season, but that should put us in the top 5 worst teams and a good chance at a top 5 lottery pick.
