Your take on Brodie is really really bad!

Only 1 of these deals that makes sense is the Chicago

Chicago EASILY rejects. We don't want a rental, money/salary is not the issue as Chicago is the 3rd most cash rich franchise. Murphy will cost a 1st, it's really that simple.

Anderson may get a wake up call when he hits UFA if he keeps letting in one soft goal everygame......makes sense why a rebuilding Hawks team would have any interest in him.

Hawks can't decline fast enough. They have zero interest in half a season of freddie

I think every team there is turning it down.

On top of it, I don't think this fixes TOR at all.
Your goalie situation would be the worst in the league and you didn't really fix the problems in front of him.
You upgrade the defense slightly, but you are still stuck with a horrible 4th line which will provide no defensive help, and 2/3 of a 3rd line with an undersized Robertson who will end up getting pushed around. Not matter what you do to the top of the defense, the bottom of that defense still can't help the poor bottom 6 forward group. Robertson can't play anywhere outside the top 6, which is where his problems start because he doesn't look like he can at this point. If he had more size and strength it would be a different story, they could help him change his game a bit and notch out a role. But he doesn't.
Until they help the bottom of the roster this team isn't going anywhere because those bottom pairing have to play 15 a night with that bottom 6.

Murphy aint no Muzzin.. and wont cost nearly as much as what Dubas paid for Muzzin. There wont be any 1st rd pick involved unless Chicago retains 50%

Glad you're not in charge.

CHI rejects; Murphy (a cheap, young dman) is more valeuable to their rebuild than an expiring goalie and a late second.

PHI: Why are we trading our big fish dman after three games? TJ looked solid on saturday, I think he will do just fine.

CAR: any combo of our garbage gets good players?

Hawks and Canes decline. And the Philly trade makes no sense for either team.

You'd set the record for the fastest firing too.

None of these deals make sense for Toronto. Brodie's a perfect fit for a top 2 guy with Rielly. Don't need to move him. If Andersen is made available, they'd be able to get actual value outta him. Not an overrated 3rd pairing d-man while actually having to add a puck to move him. That's atrocious. Pesce wouldn't be much of an upgrade over Brodie to justify giving up 3 good young assets.

This site has too much recently bias and people overreact way too quick. Go back to the drawing board on this.

Muzzin is better than Murphy, but not by much. Muzzin's better offensively for sure. Murphy's better defensively by a little. Overall Yes, Muzzin is better, but not by much. The offense gets all the attention which is fine, but the defense is what TOR needs.

Rating players as 1, 2, 3 or 4 is actually pretty meaningless. But how if you don't think Brodie is a top 2, there is no logical reason to think Murphy or Pesce are top two either.
Again a silly fascination that other deals Dmen are soooooo good. None of the 3 trades are fair deals to one team or the other, Hawks, Leafs and Canes decline

You obviously dont know the 2.. one is an Olympic team member and one is a solid 4-5 dman on a good team. HUge difference between the 2

Murphy is a solid 3/4 on a good team. Younger 2nd line RHD true defensive guys on good contracts don't need 50% retainment and definitely get 1st round picks.

You dont know anything about Dubas' trade history do you? Is very good at trading for good pieces while not giving up core pieces or top prospects.

I understand that. None of these teams would do this though, thats the problem.

- If you're rebuilding, do you want a cheap, young defender, or a rental goalie and a late second?
- Toronto isn't giving up their number one RD.
- Carolina is in the same boat as Toronto; win now. They wouldn't trade Pesce for those pieces unless they're rebuilding, or have something else in the works.

Now, if you were to center a trade around Brodie-Pesce, that could work, because it slightly downgrades Carolina's defense, instead of depleting it.

Pesce is untouchable. That was said publicly. So it's going to take more than spare parts to gather Carolina's interest. Try Nylander as a starting piece. Otherwise, get lost.

So you don't know Brett Pesce! Look at his RAPM over the last 3 years, there's VERY few better.

The continuous over valuing of Pesce on this site is dumbfounding. Very narrowminded and without any look towards the future... Trading Pesce for a cheaper RD frees up cash to resign Hamilton...
