Initial Creation Date: Jan. 16, 2021

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Some Toronto fans seem to be disenchanted with both Zach Bogosian and Freddie Andersen.

The math works for Edmonton because both Grosenick and Skinner come off the NHL roster.

I assume that while Raanta is in health quarantine, his cap hit doesn't count towards Toronto's. Once he clears, Dell goes to the taxi squad.

Definitely don't want an over 4 times more expensive version of Bogosian. Larsson sucks.

Honestly EDM's D-core is so bad they shouldn't do that move. Value's a win for them tho. I just don't see who can replace AL, especially on the PK lol.

Also hell yeah bring Raanta to TOR, dude's quite underrated

I'd rather just put Bogo on waivers and bring lehtonen up or Sandin or Liljgren.
No reason to make these trades. Also if Anderson isn't hot, play Campbell, he looked solid.

I think first thing you do if you don't like what Bogo is bringing to the team is try the players you already have in that slot. See how a Dermott Lehtonen pairing is in a 1-3 game trial. Try Dermott Liljgren, Dermott Sandin, etc. THEN, if you still don't like anything, then try make a move. I don't think Bogo should play every game and I don't think that was ever the plan for him. If he played 50-60% of the games (maybe against the bigger more physical teams) would be good enough contribution from him.

That's actually quite inaccurate.
He never got injured when he played in the Big Apple.
He played 47 games in 17-18, his first ARI season, as their 1A goalie
He did got injured in 18-19 but that's his only real big injury...

FIVE times more expensive -- I just looked at his contract (which I should have done first). But I still think he's an improvement on the ice over Bogosian. Besides, it was you guys who wanted him out first.

Edmonton declines. Andersen is a downgrade on Koskinen and Holland has publicly stated that he isn't going to spend a lot of money on goaltending.

This would make the oilers worse. They need experience on the back end both jones and bear haven’t hit the ground running moving larsson only places more responsibility on bear which would more likely cause the Shultz effect more than rebound him back to last years form. Dead set against moving larsson

I agree, but where are you getting the narrative that Bear hasn't "hit the ground running" this season?

54.87 CF%
55.06 FF%
52.63 SF%
62.50 GF%
56.13 xGF%
59.18 SCF%
60.71 HDCF%
42.86 O-zone start%
1st pairing comp

Jones-Larsson had a wobbly 1st game, but they've been okay since.

Not for Larsson good sir. Larsson is Zaitsev.

Toronto fans have been saying larsson is garbage for awhile now it’s kinda silly talk. It’s one of those things they say until he’s on the leafs then suddenly he’s the greatest shut down defender of all time. Hard to take a lot of them seriously however reality is oilers can’t afford to move any veteran presence from the back end if they want to stay in a win now conversation.

He's saving $4.1 million in actual money with this transaction.

I just didn’t see the same jump up and go out of bear perhaps it’s more the habs game I wasn’t impressed with a few plays. Couple key battles lost some of which I don’t fault him on due to physical maturity he isn’t larsson can’t expect him to clear the front of kosk like larsson can. I think we need to see jones out Russell in for a couple games but would also like to get a look at bouch before an injury happens and he’s forced into the line up. Less pressure this way that would require one of larsson barrie or bear to sit out fairly easy choice in my opinion on who gets a game or two off need to keep experience in the line up so least experienced sits.

It was the 3rd game in 4 nights - the whole Oilers team lacked "jump". It's normal.

I agree it’s normal to lack jump up and go considering situation but it’s only 3 games into a season in which all 56 are going to be like that. Giving both a break I personally think would be good for them to catch breath and regroup not making a move could send them on a downward spiral. Jones needs to be out. Bear wouldn’t shock me given 3 goals against last game and he was directly at fault on at least two of them. For both players I don’t see it as a knock against them more of just need a break and holding more accountability on the players. Good clean message good learning experience

Then why did you raise it? You can't be talking about the cap because the additional cap hit from Andersen is $833,333 -- virtually the same as any minimum-level contract.
