i'm not sure the Rangers have to give up that much here. Buch is coming into his own and has proved he is a top 6 winger.
i get that Domi is a C, but is being a center really worth that much more?

In all fairness, Domi would probably have his best years with NYR. I think he'd fit the system really well and he'd obviously have outstanding linemates. He wouldn't have to worry about a cursed team(AZ) or being forced to 3C or LW(MTL) or headbutting with a headstrong head coach(CBJ)(Say that 5 times fast)

Obviously it would have to be a Sign and Trade if NYR would give up that much.

Rangers don’t consider that. They just traded up for Schneider and I’m not convinced Domi has any significant value over Buch

I guess Domi would get the edge because centers are valued more than wingers and NYR needs a 2C, they have plenty of wingers.

NYR has Trouba, Fox, Deangelo, and Lundqvist. He's expendable.

Montreal passes. No way they let both Danault and KK go. So if KK was included in a deal for PLD I guarantee the Danault would be extended at all costs. Also if Danault left in FA KK would not be traded for PLD.

Buch is better than Domi- he had bad puck luck last season, but his underlying numbers were very good. A notoriously slow starter, Buch has gotten off to a fast start this season, so I am expecting a big season from him.

Schneider projects as an above average 4-6 guy IMO, which is exactly what the rangers will need if Trouba bounces back and Lundkvist fulfills his offense potential. Schneider can log minutes on the PK and play a shut down type role.

ADA can be had here, Schneider cannot at this point.

Because Dubois and Suzuki don't solidify your top 6 center group? I'm confused...

Deangelo doesn't fit CBJ's style, but I get what you are saying.

Schneider projects as a bottom pair guy from what I've researched. Maybe if he D game improves enough to make him a Carlo like shut down guy then fine, but he certainly doesn't have the offensive upside to replace Trouba.

I literally said he’d be a 4-6 guy who would compliment Trouba...he’s not there to replace him

Because the one thing we have going for us is depth especially at center. Losing both means we have Poehling and Evans as 3 and 4 which neither are ready for 3C reaponsability yet.

This Free Agency is filled with bottom 6 centers all of which will be affordable, I did the math as well as adding a few wingers to realistic contracts. You can do the math too, you know.

No one trades up in the draft for someone they consider expendable. End of story

BUT why should we look to FA when we already have 2 guys to fill the role? We don't we simply only let 1 of the 2 go! It's much easier to keep guys who like playing in Montreal than to try to attract a new one and have to overpay to get them here.

You're too emotional for this debate which makes you incapable of having it...

If Dubois is traded at all, it'll be to Montreal because no other teams are interested in the punk and THAT will he the return, if not, more expensive... So you might as well brace yourself......

How was that an emotional response? I used logic and reason to explain why Montreal wouldn't let both Danault and KK go. Your response was the only emotional one here. Sure we may very well trade for PLD but if we do only one of KK or PD will be involved not both. That is just rediculous to part with 2 top 6 centers for 1.

Only KK is involved... PD was signed via FA in this case lol.

Right but we still wouldn't let that happen. If KK was involved in a trade MB would just resign Danault to ensure we still had 3 balanced lines with top 6 caliber centers. If Danault was let walk in FA OK wouldn't be involved in a trade afterwards especially not to the team that just took Danault

There's no possible way you can resign Danault while Dubois and Suzuki need hefty raises the following season.

    Again, you're not being realistic...

Any other ways you want me to prove you wrong or are you finally done with the half baked idea that MB would let KK and PD go in the same offseason, let alone to the same team?

Danault is getting more than 5M dummy... He as a guy who can play on the top line, isn't going to be buried at 3C, he'll want a trade lol.

Also, that 4th line is terrible and you're assuming 3LW and 2LD make the team and have an impact in those roles with barely over 1M of cap space, that's unrealistic.

You haven't proved me wrong at all kid. Go back to NHL 20...

    1. IF you bothered to read the thread IT WASN"T MINE DUMMY!
    2. It was an example of how to make the cap work. There are other options for a 3LW and 2LD we could simply resign either Frolik or Perry for 3LW and keep Kulak on D
    3. The 4th line is not terrible it is better than anything Columbus has currently! and while none of the younger players are NHL ready right now there is no reason to think they won't be in 2 years
    4. You are just salty that we would find a way to keep one of the two as your team is so screwed at center that you are envious of our depth to the point of jealousy
