CHI quickly rejects this.
Even in 2 years Kane will be worth quite a bit more than that

I see Kane declining. Also he has one year left and they need room for other forwards and need a dman. Why not do this?

Its just a trade example. I see them trading Kane on his final year for a solid dman and it could be from any team.

That Kane trade is no where near close to fair value. Kane to avs would be Byram or Newhook + young roster player (prob jost, compher, or graves) + at least a 1st this year and maybe another conditional mid round pick that upgrades based on playoff success for the avs. Hawks also probbaly would end up having to take a chunk of salary back (maybe ian cole?) If you want retention then Avs add a sweetner. But none of this really matters because Kane isn't getting traded

It would take more then a solid D man even in 2 years. How many trade deadline deals have you seen for an elite player; not just a good or franchise player but a true elite player? The rarity that it happens, it's always a massive overpay

That's a fair point. I can see Colorado adding a first

Well the trade would be on the last year of his contract and yes I can see Colorado adding much more value

Any GM across the league would easily see any of Kane’s “dropping off” as a result of him being on the bottom of the league team. Are people forgetting that Patrick Kane really comes to life in the playoffs? GMs around the league know that 88 is next to gold if you can get him on your team for a cup run.

Ok but he's gonna be like 36 years old. Definitely not the Kane we know rn

34. His numbers are not slowing down. So over the next two years you are expecting Kane to regress so much that he loses major trade value based on what? A hunch? Lol
