Harkins is better than Connor? I'm not sure! I think that the potential of Harkins can be like Top-9 forward or less. Like Lehkonen in MTL.

I like the balance it gives the top 9 by putting Harkins there. Scheifele doesn’t need Connor or Ehlers on his line

You know Buffalo has cap and just has no want/need to take on all of Wheeler's cap. Wheeler has a NMC, you really think he waives to Buffalo?

Stanley looks all right tonight some time and a better partner than beaulieu and he might be in top 8 plans, instead of paying somebody nearing 30

Yeah he did, what a mess though and idk if DeMelo and Poolman make that big of a difference tonight,
no doubt they help a bit but ultimately I don't think it'd be that much.

Morrissey is so underrated, niku looks legit beside him. Jets still a work in progress and without laine going to be a long season and heavy lifting holding up the rest of the division.

That forward group is terrible beyond connor/scheifele and ehlers tonight possibly stasny but get him out of infront of the net on the pp.

That lineup had 7 4th liners and 3 possibly 4 3rd pairing defenseman. Helly may have stole it if laine was in the lineup

Niku looks terrible.. Lol
Heinola would help though, he looks more then ready and is probably a top 4 dman already.
Idk though, when they get back to Winnipeg I assume DeMelo draws in and think it's just a matter of time before Heinola draws in and stays, just wonder where they get slotted in the D core, it sounds like the reason for Poolman with Morrissey and DeMelo with Beaulieu at camp was to spread some size out to each pair so idk where little Ville would fit, really doesn't matter though, they just need dmen who can move the puck.

I agree, that bottom six is like all 4th line players other then maybe Harkins, I've been saying it for years, need a bottom six that contributes on the scoresheet occasionally, can't just be time wasters.

Buffalo would absolutely NOT be interested in an $8+M 34yo with 3 more years left on his deal.

I think niku running so scared that if he doesn’t contribute he’s replaced or if he makes mistakes he’s out also. I hope the jets smart enough to run him out steady for a nice stretch. Got enough big slow dman with beaulieu, poolman, and forbort. Need to hopefully develop some skill. Seattle probably scoops him either way

Yeah I can see that with Niku, he looks nervous but he's making a lot of dumb decisions with and without the puck that are costing them goals.
I'd kill for another big dman if they could break up a play in the D zone.. Lol

Crazy the gap between pionk/morrissey/laine/ehlers/scheifele/connor/ then stasny/wheeler/ then everybody else. There is no body that can steal any of there ice or jobs anytime soon. And worst part is they keep adding vets that just steal ice from the Appleton’s and harkins. They look like solid 3/4 liners too, so why the need for more of the same in Thompson and Lewis or even spending more money on Lowry and pearrault. Beaulieu/poolman/forbort not sure of the need beyond this season. But probably all brought back again to block more kids. Love of vets getting old, would rather live and die with the kids. But just a vent of seeing more of the same

That bottom six is just so dull, Perreault seems like a shell of his former self, Lowry and Copp are stonehands, Lewis and Thompson were 4th liners in their primes, Harkins and Appelton have some upside but Appleton seems like he can't finish very often and the worst part of it is Maurice will just never take the three most offensive guys from that group and make a line out of it and see what happens, I'm sure we'll be watching the Copp/Lowry combo slug around for the next 5 to 6 years so can't see Harkins or Appleton amounting to much if they're stuck on a line with those two. I appreciate the toughness and physical play but an occasional goal would really help!
I wouldn't mind if Forbort came back and Beaulieu is signed for another year but yeah the rest can go away, it's beyond time for a major flush in the bottom half of this lineup, unfortunately I don't see much changing.
