Jets have been said to been wanting a d-man for Roslovic. I could see a swap of Roslovic and maybe a lower pick (5th-7th) for Pierre-Olivier Joseph making sense. POJ is blocked by Pittsburgh's d-man for awhile so he might be available and it suits what the Jets are looking for

Could see Riikola but doubt POJ would be available, org is pretty high on him

Winnipeg was scouting last game, so assume they would be looking at someone that played in that game

Also doesn't really make sense for Pittsburgh to add a forward without moving one out

I don't think Riikkola wild fit Winnipeg because of the age difference. Jets lose too much value on age alone there.

& just because they're scouting them doesn't mean it has to be a roster player they're after. Where else can they scout right now? Can't scout AHL or junior and can't travel overseas. They literally HAVE to scout the NHL team

Don't really see age as mattering much here... but the difference between Riikola and Roslovic is virtually the same as Roslovic and POJ, which is what you proposed...

The real value is the ELC, which POJ has and Roslovic does not. With the upcoming expansion draft I really don't see that making any sense for Pittsburgh

In terms of scouting, they could also choose not to. Only four teams scouted that game. Just being in the rink says they have some interest in the players on the ice

The second is nice, but Sceviour is waiver wire fodder. The 6th is far more valuable than Sceviour. The Jets would want a young, equaled skilled defenseman.

Sceviour is a legitimate upgrade over guys like Appleton, Lewis, Thompson getting minutes in the Jets bottom 6 so no idea where the waiver wire comment comes from

An equally skilled defenseman would be someone like Riikola, who I mentioned before. Winger that can't crack the top 6 for defenseman that can't crack the top 4

You're better off keeping Sceviour and Riikola then if they are so valuable and you don't value. To Winnipeg both hold zero interest and even less value due to age and contract. As I said Roslovic will be moved for a young player.

Just makes me wonder why you want Roslovic so badly when he isn't worth anything according to you and you are willing to give up old players that hold such superior value to Pittsburgh.

Definitely not the biggest Roslovic fan but there's a seemingly legitimate rumor out that Pittsburgh had interest so I was spitballing on a fair trade, if that upsets you I would recommend just ignoring it

I just don’t see going after a guy complaining about playing Third line winger minutes instead of top 6 center minutes being happy with 4th line winger minutes I sense some really bad ju ju on this idea

This is really the exact value here.
He's not worth nearly what WPG fans want to get for him. It's total over valuation. He didn't get C minutes in WPG because he couldn't play it at the NHL level. He worked his way down the depth chart as he didn't do anything with the 15 minutes of ice time they gave him at even strength every night.

I'm not even a fan of bringing this guy in. We've seen this act over and over before. JR brings in a circus of reclamation projects hoping to find gold but doesn't. That same act has killed the defense.
We already got 3 of them on this team in Matheson, Jankowski and Ceci. We don't really need another. The more dead weight a boat has to carry eventually there is enough weight that sinks the ship.
