The Oilers should've jumped on the opportunity to get Fleury, a 1st and 50% retention (I think that was the Knights offer) when they Knights were offering him to the league!!

Only time I’ve ever heard of someone using their NMC was Kadri, maybe it happens more often but I feel like the players don’t have as much say as we think they do

They definitely do, but most is behind closed doors.

No it's because usually teams go to the player first and say "hey, we want to trade you, give me a list of places you'd accept to". Then only do dealings with whatever teams the NTC player lists unless they say they won't waive anywhere.

In Kadri's rare instance Dubas didn't go to him first. Not sure why.

I wouldn’t swap out kosk I think he’s been very good to start the year the team in front of him has had too many questionable plays causing him to be hung out to dry his numbers doesn’t reflect his play. Big mistake moving him.

That’s what I’ve noticed. He’s been really solid. The trouble is, how soon until he’s worn out similar to 17-18 Talbot.

Start kosk every game knowing the team has 40 minutes to prove they are in the game. If they are out of it after 40 minutes skinner comes in for the tail end. I get why he didn’t do that in the opener against van but to not do it in game 3 where the habs clearly had the game in the bag is foolish. He took several needless stops every second he’s in there is taking a huge risk of injury. This also gives skinner the experience in games that are out of reach. I’d rather see him get even limited experience before situation presents itself we have to start him with zero experience. It’s a tough situation currently that’s just how I’d approach it.

I recall hearing that Phil Kessel refused to go to Minnesota before he agreed to go to Arizona.

Players have as much say as we think they do. It's just a business of good guys who tend not to use it because they know what is best for their organisations.
