I’m really hesitant to make that trade because of the way Norris has looked. He could be another Suzuki by the end of the year.

With the Hawks rebuilding and also realizing the 2022 draft is better then the 2021, you can bet they won't trade that 2022 1st. They need both the 2021 and 2022 drafts to complete their rebuild and start focusing on the prospects they have today and have gained in those two drafts to build around the following season and on. 2023 I bet would be an option though.

Ottawa isn't trading a 1st for at least 3 years and Norris is quickly playing himself into untouchable territory, plus he's best friends and roommates with Tkachuk, who has got a big negotiation coming up, I highly doubt Norris is going anywhere. White or Tierney as the NHL centre going back, and then 2-3 prospects like L. Brown, Thomson, Abramov, Greig, Jarventie, maybe Brannstrom, plus a 2nd or two would likely be the package offered. Maybe one or two of the rentals if there's someone they like.

PLD is better than Norris, and has a higher ceiling, but the difference isn’t White, a good 1st, and two 2nds.

I kind of agree with this. Norris will improve his value this season, probably not to a Suzuki level, but definitely improved. He’s still young, but he has skills to build on.

Chemistry with our best player certainly helps lol. The fact that Norris, Tkachuk, and Stuetzle are all living together kinda seems to me like that’s expected to be the core moving forward. For a team that drafts friends of people as much as Ottawa does, I don’t see them breaking up those 3, and frankly I don’t think they should either, I’m perfectly fine with those being 3 of our main offensive threats (supplemented by Batherson and the 2021 1st rounder most likely, if we get PLD it will be for other pieces).

I'm not sure Ottawa would even do Norris for Dubois 1 for 1

At first glance this seems like a crazy take, but if you take into account that Dubois would NOT want to sign a long term deal with Ottawa, and Norris WILL, it's actually quite reasonable.
