In my opinion, way too good an offer from Avs, especially considering he's only signed for 2 years. I cannot see Blue Jackets saying no to this. Even if it's a very late 1st, Newhook is going to become a stud in this league.

PLD is under team control for 4 years. He has 2 remaining RFA years after his current contract.

Have you seen him playing lately though? Just because he's signed doesn't mean he's interested in playing for the team. Avs fans still have PTSD over Duchene, no need for round two.

I'd change it up. PLD for Burakovsky, Newhook, and the 1st. Take Bowers out. That's an offer I could live with, but it'd still hurt.

Yes, EJ is important to the Avs, but there a life after EJ.

Totally agree, I just don't see Joe trading EJ unless he absolutely has to. He absolutely loves this team and say what you want about Joe, but he does right about his players. For instance, he could've just buried Cole on the taxi squad in his contract year. That would've been a nail in the coffin for his career in the future. Instead, he saves $1.2 million and gives Cole the chance to play and play a lot with Minnesota. Given all of that, Graves is more of a trade candidate in my mind
