Trade doesn't really make sense for the Sharks. Not saying it's impossible but I assume you have them in a rebuild in this scenario in which case you will have to offer them more to take JVR, IMO.

JVR is really in there to help balance the cap. He's still productive, but he's got a high AAV that most teams won't want to touch.

I understand the need to balance the cap in the trade, but if Sharks are moving Ferraro and Meier then they are doing a complete rebuild. In which case they want picks and prospects if they are taking back salary then they likely only want expiring contracts not contracts with 3 years left on them.

I could be wrong because JVR is still a decent player so maybe Doug Wilson wouldn't mind taking him for a bit and trying to flip him in a year or 2 for a asset, but just my opinion.

If the Sharks are rebuilding, they're not shipping out Meier and Ferraro who will probably lead the time going forward.

There is nothing really attractive about this trade for them.

Nothing here even starts the convo. Ferraro isnt a throw in either hes a legit top 4 d going forward. So you have to pay for a young top liner and a young second pairing D.
