If the Jets wanted him, we could have got him a few months ago...he isnt that great and is not worth just the picks themselves.

If you mean Grandlund?
I think he is worth it and you get 2 2nds with him. If the rumors are true and Laine wants out than Nashville would be happy to take him.
The Jets could also take Simone like Duchene or Johansson, I just though there contract were to expensive

I love Granlund but it would be hilarious if he spent the whole season bopping from quarantine to quarantine and never actually plays a game.

And then Granlund walks in UFA and WPG ends up trading Laine + 3rd + 5th for 2x 2nds -- I don't think a deal like this makes sense for WPG. They need equal talent coming back or lots of futures.

Lol, I guess that when I was making this trade I forgot about the quarantine factor.

So instead of Grandlund, like Johansson or Duchene?

To me, they're just a bit too old, expensive, and inconsistent to get a young player like Laine.

Edit: Maybe something around Johansen (would have to be retained) + Tolvanen/Tomasino ++ would get him, but I don't know if NSH would want to pay that price.

I agree, also their contracts are probably not too appetizing for a team like WPG.

I believe Laine holds more value... I don’t get how this helps Winnipeg.

This is pretty bad, better to just go all in over the next three years and try to win a cup with Laine(if he really wants out, I think he does but maybe it's just about $$) then trade him for this.

Jets really should've tried to sign Granlund in the offseason.

They probably should have, he’s probably better than Stasny.

Oh its just amazing, sooo excited to see him out there, feel like that 2nd PP is gonna outscore the 1st unit now that Lowry is on it... 😂.. Nice he got that deflection though!.. 👍

Seriously though like why not put Harkins or Appleton on it? Same thing with the top 6 spot with the Laine injury, why not put try one of those two young guys there, do we really think Perreault is going to regain his scoring touch at this point?? How much more top 6 time do we need to give Copp before we can conclude he's a good 3rd liner and that's it? Ehlers gave Copp a nice back pass and of course Copp missed what was probably a goal, just don't get the passing over guys who just recently scored in the AHL and still have potential for guys who have showed what they are at this point.

completely agree. Harkins has done nothing but improve from a minor leaguer to an NHLer and he showed good signs on contributing last year...why not put him up wiht the big boys? you're right, Matty P isnt gonna all of a sudden be a top 6 guy. MOre "i love my vets" garbage from Pomo.
