Why though? Bowman would probably ask for Carlo or a first rounder for it to even be a possibility.

I'd think Chicago would ask for at least a 1st along with that package if DeBrusk was the main piece. (Just to be clear, I mean upgrade the 2nd to a 1st, not add a 1st in addition to the 2nd already there)

Why though?

For who?

For Boston - Kubalik seems more consistent than Debrusk. Debrusk isn't a huge downgrade though. I don't know, also the reality that our best and most experienced LD plays hard and is small. As well as Lauzon, and Zboril in particular, have played - If Gryzelcyk missed any significant time, their lack of experience would become very apparent. Zadorov adds that and toughness. He blocks a lot of shots. I think and I kind of hope the Bruins re-sign Krejci on the cheap because he doesn't want to move. If he is flanked by two other Czechs it couldn't hurt, right...

For Chicago - Debrusk and Kubalik should produce similarly. Kubalik seems a bit more consistent. Bjork is the intriguing add. Good young player, Looks like he should be a solid middle six. Has a ton of speed and skill and is killing penalties this year. He should produce more than he has, a change of pace and more ice time might do him well. He is WI kid too. Zboril - Has looked good. I don't see Zadorov in the Hawks Future, Zboril could be. At the very least he is cheaper and under team control. The pick is the pick. I would consider flipping that with Vladar if it moved the needle. I have no idea about the hawks goalie situation in their farm system.

No doubt that Kubalik is a bit better than Debrusk, but not by that much. Also bruins dont want or need Zadorov.
So bruins reject on Value and Pieces
Idk about Chicago but ya know these guys seem to agree:

Hawks decline. Kubalik>Debrusk. Zadorov is worth about what the rest of that package is, and we don't really even want bjork or zboril.

No for Bruins. Zadorov is not worth the expansion draft dilemma he creates, the extra cap hit and the valuable asset a 2nd round pick is worth that they would be giving up.
