Replace Ranta with a '21 2nd and you've got yourself a deal.

Jost being a bust ish is huge to the Avs. By now, we should be a 2C, or at least an upper tier 3C. Yet he's barely a 3rdliner

Avs don't have a 2021 2nd. Try again with something Avs do have...

Then I guess it's their '21 1st. Oh and you can take out the 4th in that case.

Willing to throw in a kicker, or make it 2 3rd's?

Definitely no to trading a 1st for a bottom 6 forward.

Well then it seems to me the Wild will be looking elsewhere to deal Bonino.

This is exactly what Avs would do. I made a corresponding Avs AGM wink

It doesn't have to be Nieto, but I figured might as well pick someone with the cheapest possible contract and someone who already knows Bednar's systems just as a depth add for the playoffs.

Got it

I actually think this makes a lot of sense along with the Bonino move. He would be a great 3C and also gives the Avs more cap flexibility in the future since hes an expiring contract.

I wonder if they could fit both Compher and Bonino if we paid MIN a bit extra to retain

Rantanen being an elite 1st line forward is huge to the Avs. By now, he should have been a 50 point 2nd line RW. Yet he's a top 5 RW in the entire league.

Makar close to being a No.1 Dman is huge to the Avs. By now, he should be a 3rd pairing OFD, or maybe a 2nd pairing OFD if we're lucky. Yet he's an elite No.1 Dman in the making.

Timmins looking like a top 4 Dman is huge to the Avs....

etc etc etc

If Jost being a bust-ish is the price of hitting on all our other high picks, that's a price I'm glad to pay.

It would be nice if he could take the 3C role, but at least we are blessed with some other guys who can make up for his shortcoming.

I'm sorry what?
Rantanen had sky high potential since day one
Makar wasn't the 2nd d-man to be drafted in his class for nothing

Yeah they had potential. But they weren't guaranteed to hit the ceiling of their potential. I mean, how many people thought Makar would take the league by storm as a rookie? Many people saw Jost as a sure-fire 2C.

Anyways, my point was simply that nobody is crying over Jost not making it as a 3C, because we've been so fortunate with how our other top prospects have turned out.

Finding a 3C via trade is much easier to do than finding a 1st line player because a pick doesn't develop as expected.

No from Minnesota. Again, Minnesota isn't trading Bonino much less for a winger prospect not needed.

Since you can't read & understand, Minnesota is trying to win . So before you bash someone, learn to read. Wild won't trade him for a winger prospect.

Trying to win with Bonino as 1C? Good luck with that!

It's pretty clear that Guerin has been collecting assets he can cash in with at the deadline, starting with the Kunin trade which netted him two very good prospects and Bonino who will add further assets.

Bonino is no longer the 1c . Also, yeah wild are trying to win because division is wral, & two, it was reported wild are trying to win so Kaprizov can be convinced to sign long term deal to match with fiala this off-season.

It was also reported dumba closeness with Kaprizov has made wild weary of trading dumba

Kunin trade was because of expansion. Not about trade deadline

Jost is not a bust, he is an effective defensive forward with great underlying numbers, that is not a bust.

Lias Anderssen at 7th overall is a bust. Jost being an NHLer and one of the better forwards in his draft class is a testament of how poor that draft year was.

No reason for SJ to trade a future for a depth piece that won't change anything.
