Monahan would have more trade value than Toews. I think Chicago would have to retain or sweeten a deal to move Toews. That contract is horrible for him

Depends what each management team wants. Chicago likely would want prospects and younger guys if they move Toews, so I don't think Monahan fits that anyways

No f***ing way. Toews is better at defense, at least as good at driving offense, a better leader, etc

That contract is an anchor. Weighs his value down a ton. Plus Monahan is younger. It's not as far away as you think

If the Hawks trade Toews I’d rather just run with Strome and Dach, personally. That said, I highly doubt he gets traded.

Agree, I think Toews is dealing something more serious such as a disease and potentially not quickly resolved. If that is the case, Hawks aren't going to trade him as his value will plunge obviously and just put him LITR. That said, would much rather have Toews then a $10.5M cap relief as his intangible are priceless.
