Penguins would take Bonino over Johansson. Well JR would anyways.

Dude wild aren't rebuilding. Not with brodin extension, spurgeon extension, Foligno extension, Kaprizov being a restricted agent & wild trying to sign him long term. So unless wild are out of it, none of this is happening.

Wild don't need Joel blomqvist, Thomas nosek, & no to every single part of this deal.

You’ve definitely got the idea right here, I think the returns are a bit high though. If they managed to pull all of this back, I’d be ecstatic.

This is all IF they are out of it. I’d give Judd Brackett as many quality picks as possible.

I’d even drop the IF here. Also, this guy is kind of a troll, FWIW.

Uh... We are rebuilding. Granlund, Zucker, Coyle, Nino, Staal, Dubnyk, Kunin, Donato, and Koivu are all gone. Outside of our blue line I'd say this team is very much rebuilding while our prospects develop.

These trades are more about getting picks and replacements for the players lost than acquiring the names you mentioned.

I’m not a troll. This is just pure hockey interests from me. I’m not sowing discord into the Wild fan base. This is just interesting to me because they have some quality pieces that they could get solid return from. AND I really like the Judd Brackett hire. That’s a gift that’ll keep on giving imo. Also, really loved the hiring of Billy Guerin. Great hockey guys. I think the Wild have a solid future ahead of them with those guys running things.

My bad, not you. The guy you responded to in the post I quoted is a troll so all apologies.

I also agree with all of those point.

Koivu and Dub looked done last year. I wouldn't count them as more than sheading dead weight.

Granny, Coyle, and Nino hadn't done anything in MN. Fenton did the right thing by getting rid of them, he just didn't get the returns fans would have liked for them. Zucker was as good as gone under Fenton too. Guerin just got a better return for him.

Staal and Kunin were just dumb trades by the GM. Donato was dumped (used as a bribe to take Dub) because there wasn't a lineup spot for him.

I don;t think Guerin knows what he's doing. He's being that one fantasy owner in every league who just takes mostly the guys from his favorite team and adds in a few that he's had on his past teams.

Not saying we should or shouldn't have gotten rid of those guys. Just saying this team is very much rebuilding

I agree with everything up until you stated BG does not know what he’s doing!!! Um... I think he’s trying to be patient and competitive at the same time which is tough.

I think the interesting thing is he could be a seller AND make the playoffs this year given the division they're in. That means a pick between 16-19 in round 1 that could easily be upgraded with some of the picks they will get at the TDL. If they make the playoffs despite the selloff, then good on who's on the team. I do hope they get at least one lottery eligible pick though.

Both of their first round picks could be lottery picks this year. Pittsburgh might not necessarily be in the playoffs this year. That’s a super competitive division.

I'm currently in DC so the Caps are my defacto #2 team and I can't figure out if the points the Pens took from the Caps were lucky or if the Pens still have it. I would not be a fan of GMJR's offseason if I was a Pens fan.

Granlund, Coyle, Nino, were gone a long time ago. Staal traded because he sucked. Zucker isn't having success in Pitt. Dubnyk, & donato were cap dumb. My gosh. Kunin was traded because of expansion. So everything you said is blatantly false.

Wild aren't rebuilding. Guerin has made it clear his goal always to win. You don't sign spurgeon, brodin, & foligno to long term contract to rebuild.

Dude wild couldn't, & had no way to protect Kunin, so they would have lost him fir nothing. So instead wild got 2nd round pick to select Center Marat Khusnutdinov , along with Bonino who can get 2nd round pick, or 1st if wild are out

Could be a retool / rebuild. Teams do that. Try and be competitive while also looking to acquire futures. This mock scenario is concerned with the IF they are out of it. Minnesota has almost always been a bubble team their whole existence. Never getting top 5 picks etc. They might get some quality picks this year.

Because you can't stand the truth, so you need to call someone a troll. Imagine living in an alternate life. There's was nothing about what I said that was trolling.

Before you call someone a troll, do some research. Wild have to sign Kaprizov & want to sign him long term, not 2-3 years so he becomes free agent & can leave. Next time before you call someone a troll, know about the team better

The Pens are grasping at the last part of their Cup window. I’m sure that Hornqvist trade will bite them. Time will tell. I’m hoping they falter miss the playoffs and gift the Wild a top ten pick. I’m a huge Bruins fan so I will delight in their demise.

I’d still keep an eye out for possible trades for futures even if it’s not for all of the trades I mocked here. I think they’ll try and stay competitive but I think they should move out UFAs if they get the right return because honestly they don’t have Cup caliber players currently.

They could have easily protected Dumba if Guerin didn't give Spurgeon an awful contract and moved him , or if he didn't re-sign Brodin, or if he worked out a trade for Dumba, or just let SEA take Kunin and keep the guy they would have taken instead.

The expansion draft is going to cost MN both or Kunin and Greenway (or whoever), and all they got for that was a 2nd, move up from a 4th rounder to a 3rd rounder, and a rental.

Wild will end up 4th or 5th in the West this year, as usual not bad enough to be a total dumpster fire and not good enough to be a contender. If they make the playoffs they'll face a real contender team and best case win a game or two in a playoff series. Please BG trade Johansson, Bonino, Bjugstad, Cole and Hunt for anything a contender will trade in the form of picks/prospects.

With their defense in shambles, I’m willing to offload Bonino and Cole for McCann, unprotected 2022 1st, and 2021 2nd. If JR wants to add, BG graciously accepts.
